Forty-five years ago, Dave Robinson began his career at Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant as a chemistry technician. What started as a steady job close to home became something more: a multigenerational commitment to powering New England. From startup through decades of operation, Dave has supported the plant’s long-term performance and reliability. Today, his son Chris works alongside him—years after first touring the plant’s control room as a child. For the Robinsons, Seabrook isn’t just where they work. It’s where one generation’s dedication inspires the next. “Knowing that I can carry on the legacy of something he’s worked on longer than I’ve been alive means everything to me,” Chris says. This week, NextEra Energy Transmission and the New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority celebrated the completion and energization of the Crossroads-Hobbs-Roadrunner Transmission Line, a major milestone for New Mexico’s energy future. Crossroads-Hobbs-Roadrunner strengthens grid reliability, expands access to lower-cost generation and supports continued economic growth across southeastern New Mexico. It was also delivered ahead of schedule and on budget. This project marks the third successful competitively awarded transmission project NextEra Energy Transmission has delivered for the Southwest Power Pool, with all three completed on schedule and within budget — demonstrating the value of collaboration, disciplined execution and competitive transmission development. NextEra Energy, Inc. and Dominion Energy today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement to combine in an all-stock transaction. The combination will create the world’s largest regulated electric utility business, fortified by North America’s premier energy infrastructure platform and developer. The combined company will be more than 80% regulated and serve approximately 10 million utility customer accounts across Florida, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Yesterday, we officially cut the ribbon on the new Duane Arnold Training Facility in Hiawatha, Iowa. This facility features a state-of-the-art glass-panel simulator designed to mirror the Duane Arnold Energy Center control room — training future plant operators on the exact systems and procedures used onsite. The facility demonstrates our commitment to safety and operational excellence as we develop the next generation of highly skilled nuclear workers right here in Iowa.
