Meet Nancy! 💜 After experiencing homelessness and housing instability, Nancy connected with PATH and was determined to create a safer, more stable future for herself and her family. Throughout her journey, Nancy remained focused on her goals. She secured employment, stayed actively engaged with services, and leaned on the support of her children and loved ones while working toward permanent housing. With continued guidance from PATH's Pathway Home program and Housing Navigation teams, Nancy achieved her goal of moving into her own home. Today, Nancy remains stably housed and continues building a brighter future with ongoing supportive services. "A big thank you to PATH and all the staff who worked with me to make this possible. Grateful for new beginnings." Welcome home, Nancy. 🏡

As temperatures continue to rise across California this summer, our unhoused neighbors face increasing challenges staying cool and safe. PATH outreach teams are focused on bringing people indoors and connecting unsheltered individuals to cooling centers and shelters. In San Diego, Jayna Lee, Associate Director of Programs, shared insights on these critical outreach efforts. https://lnkd.in/g53uKcWi

Summer celebrations are all about community, connection, and good food! ☀️ Residents at PATH Orange County's interim housing communities, including one of our newest sites, came together to enjoy a delicious barbecue prepared by our incredible case managers, featuring ribs, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans. A special thank you to Messiah Lutheran Church for providing festive decorations and volunteering alongside our team to help make the day so memorable. We are grateful for partners who help create moments of connection and belonging for our neighbors. 💙

Meet Eric! ❤️ After experiencing homelessness for more than a year following the loss of his mother, Eric was living between Metro trains and couch-surfing when he connected with PATH’s Street Outreach Case Manager, Harold, through PATH's partnership with Los Angeles Metro. Harold built trust over time by meeting Eric where he was and providing consistent support. Together, they navigated every step of the housing journey, from connecting to shelter and obtaining important documents to completing disability verification, exploring housing options, touring apartments, and securing financial move-in assistance. Today, Eric is settling into his new home and embracing a fresh start. His message to others is simple: "Turn a mess into a message." Welcome home, Eric.🏡

When discussing public spaces and infrastructure projects, it’s essential to consider their impact on people experiencing unsheltered homelessness alongside the broader community. Thoughtful planning ensures these investments are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the needs of everyone who relies on these spaces. https://lnkd.in/gcjEKGkg Miguel Figueroa, who’s part of an homeless outreach team in the South Bay for PATH San Diego, said people living under and adjacent to the pedestrian bridge find this specific area safe. Figueroa makes rounds in San Ysidro and recently learned of people living there. His team’s outreach has led to some progress. “After speaking with them, we understood that some of them are interested in programs, some of them are interested in shelter, and just getting some type of resource or service,” he told inewsource during a visit to the bridge Thursday morning.
