  • Most fans remember the moment. Few ever meet the people who made it possible. Episode 1 of Legacy Engine is now live, featuring Akash Saxena, CTO at JioHotstar, on leadership, scale, and the technology behind the world's biggest sporting moments.

The first episode of Legacy Engine is now live. And I couldn't have asked for a better guest to begin this journey. For years, Akash Saxena has been building the systems behind some of the largest live streaming events in history, shaping how hundreds of millions of fans experience sports. What fascinates me most about Akash isn't just the scale he has helped achieve, but the clarity with which he operates to build moments of such magnitude, and to build teams, systems, and platforms for a future that doesn't exist yet. This conversation goes far beyond technology. It's about leadership, ambition, conviction, and what it takes to operate at extraordinary scale. I've learned a lot from Akash over the years, and I learned even more sitting down for this conversation. I know you will too. Ever since I was young, I've been fascinated by how complex systems work. Whether it was a rocket launch, a live broadcast, or a major sporting event, I always found myself wondering what it took to make something that complicated feel so effortless. Especially in live sports:  ⁃ How does a moment happening in one stadium reach millions of people around the world in real time?  ⁃ How do platforms prepare for audiences that can grow by tens of millions in a matter of minutes?  ⁃ How do entire teams coordinate under enormous pressure when there is no room for error? The more time I spent around the leaders building these experiences, the more I wanted to understand how they think. That curiosity became Legacy Engine. And I couldn't think of a better first guest to begin this show with. When we filmed this conversation, Akash, CTO at JioHotstar, and his team had just set a global record with 61 million concurrent viewers during the Champions Trophy Final. A few months later, they broke their own record again, with 72 million fans watching simultaneously during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Final. The episode drops Monday. Here's a first look. 🔗 👀 https://lnkd.in/epjE8NgG Subscribe on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts so you don't miss it. I've always been fascinated by people who see the world a little differently; people who can look at the way things are and imagine the way they could be, long before the rest of us realise what's possible. The history of technology, sports, and human progress is filled with people like this. Builders who didn't just solve problems. They expanded horizons. They created experiences, systems, and possibilities that most of us take for granted today. Over the years, I've been fortunate to meet many of them. Every conversation left me with more questions than answers. How do they think? What do they see that others don't? How do they make decisions when the stakes are high, and the path isn't obvious? And what does it really take to build something that lasts, something that changes how millions of people experience the world? Those questions became Legacy Engine. A cinematic show where I sit down with the leaders shaping sports, AI, media, culture, and technology from the inside out. This project has been almost a year in the making, and I'm incredibly excited to finally share it with the world. The first episode is especially meaningful to me, and I can't wait for you to see it. Trailer drops this Thursday. Stay tuned. Onwards and upwards, Hardik 👀 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ecmtMpGY
