    As we report our half-year results today, our strong momentum continued, driven by a 6% sales increase at constant exchange rates and significant positive pipeline development.   What matters most is the progress we make for patients. We shared positive phase III data for a potential best-in-class therapy in advanced lung cancer. In addition, our regulatory progress accelerated with five US FDA Priority Reviews — including in early-stage breast cancer, thyroid eye disease, colon cancer and autoimmune kidney disease. In Diagnostics, we reached major milestones with the launch of our new sequencing solution, alongside European CE marks for key diagnostic tests in Alzheimer’s pathology and latent tuberculosis screening. With several exciting launches on the horizon and strong momentum across our entire business, together, we continue to push the boundaries of innovation to prevent, stop and cure diseases, making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients around the world.     We join the scientific community worldwide in commemorating the remarkable life and contributions of Susumu Tonegawa, a molecular biologist whose pioneering research was fundamental to our comprehension of the human immune system. Dr. Tonegawa’s tenure at our Basel Institute for Immunology, 1972 to 1981, proved transformative. He took on a fundamental biological puzzle: how our bodies manage to produce a vast array of unique antibodies from a limited genetic template. By revealing the mechanism of gene recombination, he provided the key to understanding how our immune system recognises and defends against an endless variety of pathogens. This breakthrough on antibody gene segments, recognised with the 1987 Nobel Prize in Medicine, advanced basic biology and paved the way for modern immunological therapies, including the development of humanised antibodies that have fundamentally influenced the landscape of patient care. At Roche, we feel a meaningful connection to Dr. Tonegawa’s legacy and are proud to have been part of his scientific journey. We are inspired by his passion and drive to push the frontiers of science. His spirit of inquiry drives our own mission and commitment to trailblaze new scientific research. The module contains 8 million microscopic wells, each one spanned by a thin membrane with a single nanopore through which a single molecule can pass.     Historically, the retina has been one of the most difficult organs to reach. This makes delivering treatments highly challenging, often forcing researchers to rely on slow, macro-structural changes to measure if a new therapy is working. Today, advancements in non-invasive retinal imaging are transforming this baseline. By allowing us to see the back of the eye directly at a cellular level, these technologies allow us to map these cellular changes in real time, accelerating early-stage in vivo validation for clinical studies/trials and building a more predictive data architecture for our pipelines.
