About us
RGM has a 30 year history of quality and service at a fair market price. Our diversified inventory and manufacturing capabilities allow us to effectively support distribution through steel service centers and qualified original equipment manufacturers. We specialize in the production of precision tolerance, round bars from hot roll stock. We stock several thousand tons of material in various stainless, carbon, and alloy grades. Our manufacturing practices include material selection, precision straightening, turning, burnish/polishing, centerless grinding, cutting, heat treating, facing, end-stamping, packaging, testing, and logistics. We develop effective JIT/RFS inventory plans to meet or exceed the demands of our diverse customer base. Additionally, we provide our manufacturing processes for bar and tubing materials supplied to us by our customers. Our complete diameter range (1/8” to 12″ diameters) is one of the most extensive in the industry, with bar lengths ranging from 8 ft. to 50 ft. Additionally, we have the ability to process ferrous, non-ferrous, heat-treated, standard, and specialty grades of material; this flexibility allows us to facilitate the most specific needs in the industry. Surface finishes and tolerances are produced to precise customer requirements, and our ISO-9001:2015 designation demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement in every aspect of our business. RGM-Tech Talk: Grinding Grinding of long bars is typically done centerless. Due to the long lengths (over 6 feet) bars must feed through the machine center. A centerless grinder has a grinding wheel (the abrasive), regulating wheel and a support. Since grinding is a rigid process, very accurate tolerances and surface finishes are produced. RGM has grinding capabilities from 0.1875" to12" in diameter, and can hold tolerances as tight as 0.0004”. Last week, I wrapped up my summer internship at Round Ground Metals, Inc. I am grateful for my opportunity to experience office life and give support on day to day operations. I worked with many departments including Production Planning, Shipping and Receiving, Purchasing, and Pricing. No matter which one I assisted, I learned that one job is not done without the help of another. At RGM, it is all about teamwork to reach the high quality standards of products. While I was assisting in more general business based tasks, I had the chance to help prepare the company for an audit. I contributed by getting the vendor certifications up to date and organizing paper trials that would soon be looked at for correct operations. I am headed back to Saint Mary’s with a better knowledge of business, and I look forward to using my experience towards my education!
