NEWS: X10, Dock for X10, and R10 added to the Blue UAS Cleared List, joining X10D. This makes Skydio the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 and 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 Blue UAS-cleared DFR solution. The clearance confirms these systems meet federal cybersecurity, supply chain, and NDAA compliance standards. It also means our full X10 and R10 ecosystems qualify for federal grant programs, the funding thousands of state and local agencies rely on to launch and scale drone programs. For defense and federal teams, it means procurement without additional waivers or approvals. More on the milestone → https://lnkd.in/g46jFWUm

Unbelievable footage. GUN. Clearly visible in the Drone as First Responder footage. This is modern policing. Last month, officers responded to gun shots in Brooklyn. Two teens fled to a nearby rooftop. In just minutes, New York City Police Department drones helped NYPD 73rd Precinct locate them and recover a weapon.

After several weeks of flying, learning, and exploring what's possible, our dock-based DFR demonstration has officially come to an end. For everyone who followed along, asked questions, or stopped by to see the system in action, thank you for being part of the journey. Over the past several weeks, we've had the opportunity to explore what the future of public safety can look like here in Lakeville. This demonstration was a little different than many others. Rather than focusing solely on traditional call response, we built our operation around event overwatch during Pan-O-Prog. Using two Skydio docks, supplemented by our patrol-based Skydio X10, we were able to maintain continuous aerial coverage over the festivities while still responding to calls for service. The numbers were impressive, but they only tell part of the story. Over the course of the demonstration, we flew 113 DFR missions as part of 263 total flights, logging more than 56 hours in the air. Even while dedicating significant resources to event coverage, we still arrived on scene before officers on nearly one out of every four DFR calls (24.3%). Our city covers nearly 38 square miles, and both docks were intentionally placed in a single geographic area for this demonstration. Seeing what was possible with only two docks in one location makes it exciting to think about what a fully deployed system with multiple strategically placed docks could accomplish. More important than the numbers, though, was the opportunity to learn. This demonstration reinforced that successful DFR programs aren't just about technology. They're about thoughtful implementation, training, and giving officers another tool to make better decisions. Thank you to our city leadership for believing in this project and supporting us as we explored a new way of serving our community. Thank you to everyone at the Lakeville Police Department who embraced something new, asked questions, shared ideas, and helped make this demonstration a success. Innovation only works when people are willing to challenge themselves and keep learning. A special thank you to the teams at Axon and Skydio, especially Jordan Bischoff, Alex Lohman, and Jackson DeWitt. Your partnership, patience, and willingness to share your knowledge made this demonstration possible. We couldn't have asked for better partners throughout this process. All good things eventually come to an end, but this doesn't feel like goodbye. It feels like another step forward. The technology is impressive, but what impressed me most was watching our officers embrace it, build confidence with it, and discover new ways to better serve our community. That's what will ultimately define the future of public safety. #LakevillePD #DFR #DroneAsFirstResponder #PublicSafety #Skydio #Axon #Innovation #LawEnforcement

I welcome the criticisms of Skydio raised by last week’s WIRED article on Skydio and the San Francisco Police Department. When we sell to law enforcement, our ultimate customer is the community served by the public safety agency. Our products are purchased by tax dollars to provide a public good, and the public damn well has a right to scrutinize both Skydio and the agencies we serve. There is always something we can learn from critical inquiry, and in this case there is plenty we will improve on.
