We're incredibly grateful to The Toy Foundation for awarding St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children a $2,500 Children’s Hospital Play Grant! 🩵 This generous support will help our Child Life team purchase toys, games, and activity supplies that bring comfort, joy, and meaningful engagement to the children and young adults receiving care on our campus. Through therapeutic play, our specialists help patients cope with hospitalization, reduce anxiety, and create moments of normalcy during challenging times. Today, we celebrated an incredible milestone as Lian was discharged from St. Mary’s surrounded by the care team and family who have cheered him on every step of the way. 💙 Admitted in December 2022, Lian has made remarkable progress throughout his journey. We are so proud of how far Lian has come and grateful to have been part of his journey. Join us in celebrating this amazing little boy and wishing him and his family all the best as they begin this next chapter. 🎉

We were honored to welcome Larry Sussman and John Santana of the Seventh District Foundation to St. Mary’s Early Education Center. For 28 years, the Foundation has been a valued charitable partner, frequently visiting our campus and witnessing firsthand the impact of its support. During today’s visit, they learned more about our preschool program for children with special needs. They saw how our dedicated staff creates an inclusive, nurturing environment where children of all abilities learn, play, and grow together. At St. Mary’s, our seasonal Parks & Rec Group helps our young adults build valuable pre-vocational, social, and life skills while connecting with peers and engaging in the community. This collaboration between our Occupational Therapy Services and Medical Day Healthcare Program (MDHC) helps our young adults build responsibility, teamwork, confidence, and independence through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
