Steel erection is currently one of the major ongoing milestones for the UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital project. With the completion of perimeter basement walls, the site was officially handed off to Schuff Steel late June, and since then, has experienced rapid progression throughout the site. Within the past week, teams have made significant work, which includes several steel erection sequences such as, sequence 2, which has neared completion for metal decking. In Level 3, all columns were installed. In sequence 4, beams were installed over the weekend in basement level 1 (B1 north). Sequence 5’s metal decking has completed, and in sequence 7, decking officially started, along with installation of beams and columns that were installed over the weekend.
