  • As nuclear plants continue addressing equipment obsolescence, annunciator systems must evolve while preserving the operator familiarity that supports safe and efficient plant operations. The Westinghouse Annunciator System modernizes legacy annunciators with a fully digital solution built on the proven Emerson Ovation® Distributed Control System (DCS) platform. The system replaces traditional lamp-boxes with commercial off-the-shelf displays while maintaining the alarm patterns and visual cues operators rely on every day. The result is improved reliability, reduced lifecycle costs, enhanced alarm management capabilities, and a future-ready modernization path. Key Advantages ✅ Fully redundant architecture with no single point of failure ✅ Advanced alarm filtering, suppression, and prioritization ✅ Integrated Sequence of Events (SOE) recording and alarm history review ✅ Seamless integration with existing Ovation DCS infrastructure ✅ Reduced lifecycle costs and simplified technology refreshes ✅ Enhanced operator awareness through advanced visualization tools ✅ Preserves familiar operator alarm patterns and annunciator functionality What annunciator obsolescence challenges is your facility facing today? • Thank you to Greg Beard, Director of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) U.S. DOE Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF), for visiting our Bridge Street facility in Etna, Pennsylvania. We provided an up-close look at the 87,000-square-foot innovation hub, where we are advancing our reactor technologies for today's nuclear fleet and for tomorrow's nuclear energy possibilities. We also had the opportunity to share some of the innovations that will accelerate a fleet deployment of advanced AP1000® modular reactors in the U.S., strengthening the nation's nuclear supply chain and creating real economic benefits for American families. We appreciate our strong partnership with DOE and look forward to working together for America's nuclear future!

  • In outage execution, speed only matters when it comes with control, predictability, and disciplined risk management. The Westinghouse Multi Lift Tool (MLT) exemplifies that approach by enabling the complete disassembly of a fuel cell in a single, controlled evolution. By integrating the handling of Control Rod Blades (CRBs), Fuel Support Pieces (FSPs), and Double Blade Guides (DBGs) into one engineered system, the MLT significantly reduces work complexity, tool changes, and execution variability on the refuel floor. The benefits are clear: • Fewer evolutions and handoffs • Reduced execution and human performance risk • Improved schedule predictability • Consistent, verifiable quality outcomes Built in safety features, positive engagement indication, and precise alignment control allow outage teams to gain efficiency without compromising nuclear safety or quality standards. This is Westinghouse engineering at its best—simplifying critical fuel cell work, strengthening outage governance, and delivering reliable performance when every decision and every hour matters.

  • ⚽ World Cup matches run on skill, strategy and high performance from kickoff to the final whistle. That same dependability is what advanced AP1000® modular reactors bring to the grid. Today, AP1000 reactors are already delivering 6.8 GWe of continuous power around the world, enough electricity for the equivalent of 680 million LED light bulbs. Imagine that power on a World Cup stage: If each stadium uses about 2-3 MW of continuous power during a match, our global AP1000 fleet could power roughly 2,200-3,400 stadiums at once! That’s power built for the big moments – on and off the field. Read more: https://ow.ly/2iJU50Zm4mg

It was a great pleasure to be at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdańsk this week on behalf of Westinghouse Electric Company!   I had the opportunity to engage in important discussions with partners and stakeholders to reaffirm Westinghouse's long-term commitment to Ukraine and Poland. Our work now spans the full nuclear value chain, from fuel supply and safety solutions to planned AP1000® deployment and local supply chain capability-building.   Together with Energoatom and AP1000 Polish project stakeholders, we will be supporting Ukraine’s strategic goals of restoring nuclear capacity by 2035 and achieving energy independence, while also helping strengthen local industry and supply chains in both neighbouring countries. We see Ukraine’s nuclear renewal plan as a significant opportunity for cooperation, creating supply chain growth for construction and manufacturing companies in both countries.   Westinghouse remains committed to supporting this cooperation for the long term. #URC2026 #WestinghouseProud #Ukraine
