Revenue & Robots during New York Tech Week with our friends at People Data Labs was a hit! We had a coffee cart, a banging breakfast, robots, and a room full of leaders talking about how AI is changing GTM. So starting this Friday, we're making GTM Breakfast at Default HQ a semi-regular thing. Enjoy some photos from our last one :), and register here to make it to our next one: https://luma.com/1qncurjt

Excited to launch Default's $1.5M RIP Fund! This $1.5M will go directly to prospects who need to break free from legacy contracts and set themselves up for a strong Q3 and Q4. It’s the first of many initiatives under our Replace Incumbent Platforms (RIP) campaign. Here’s how it works: 1. Bring us your legacy contract 2. We’ll buy you out of your existing GTM tech stack 3. We’ll migrate you to an AI-native solution like Default I even asked Nico to sign a commitment letter to make it official. Learn more below.

I went to New York TECH WEEK by a16z, and it was amazing to experience the city’s vibrant tech culture firsthand. Over the week, I had the chance to meet founders, builders, investors, and operators, and see so many ambitious startups being built across the city. A few highlights: I visited the Default office, where they were giving away a robot dog and letting people control it. I stopped by the ElevenLabs pop-up cafe, where I ordered through an ElevenLabs agent and a robot made me a coffee that was actually not bad. I attended the SimpleClosure cocktail event, which had a really interesting setup featuring artifacts from failed companies like FTX, Theranos, Napster, and more. Also, open cocktail bar which was a huge plus. I went to the Haven event, where the Knicks game was on and just hung out with everyone there. I really enjoyed the people I met and the energy of the event. Another highlight was seeing Bryan Kim formerly at Andreessen Horowitz speak. I really enjoyed his talk, especially his point that many early-stage companies do not actually have moats yet. In a lot of cases, the moat comes later. Early on, what matters is momentum. However, the biggest thing that stood out to me was the scale of the New York City tech scene. Compared to Toronto, New York has roughly 4x more startups, 7x more startup funding, and during Tech Week it felt like there were 10x more events, conversations, investors, customers, and opportunities everywhere you turned. But honestly, that makes sense. It’s New York City after all. Overall, I really enjoyed meeting people, getting to know the startup ecosystem there, and seeing the pace at which people are building. Looking forward to coming back soon.

NY Tech Week 2026 is a wrap. 20+ events, a blur of conversations, and a lot of genuinely good people. Met builders, operators, and investors across every corner of the ecosystem. A few I'm especially glad to have connected with: Saahil Bijlani (Tracksuit), Timothy Sakharov (Scientific Systems), Lev Katreczko (Default), Matthew Du Pont (First Round Capital), Gloria Peng (Starti), SE Harburg-Petrich, MS (New York Life), Shanté Skyers (Safe Horizon), Jessie Gertz (PwC), and many more I'm still following up with. Also, a big thanks to everyone who came out to the Supper's event Thursday night at People's NYC. Emma Lo🧋, Gabrielle Turyan, Joseph Goldbeck, Sahil Bhaiwala, Sascha E., Charlotte McEvoy, May M., April Mellas, Sam Li, and Alex Montgomery, great hang, and even better conversations! Already looking forward to keeping these conversations going. So many threads I want to pick back up... if we connected this week, expect to hear from me.

Our reps were copy-pasting the prospect's email from the Nooks dialer into our Default booking form on every single call. Small step. Happens all day. Allergic to that. So I built a Chrome extension that grabs the email straight from the dialer and auto-fills the booking form. Zero clicks. I'm not a "software engineer," BUT... I'm a GTM Engineer, so with Claude Code, a "this annoys me" turned into testing and shipping a Chrome extension within a morning. Find the 10-second tax your team pays 100x a day. Go delete it.

Last week, we gave away a robot dog at NY Tech Week. Serdar won it. The room went wild. It was our first year joining in on the TECH WEEK by a16z fun, co-hosting a GTM Breakfast with our friends at Default. Revenue operators, GTM, data nerds, and robot fans packed the room for a Clinton Street Baking Co. & Restaurant spread, great conversations, and live robots you could actually pilot. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such an energizing morning. The future of GTM is actively built by the people in rooms like this — and we're glad to be a part of it. See you at the next one. 👋 #NYTechWeek #GTM #Data

Last summer, I sent our team a memo called Operation Phoenix. The memo said to pause shipping new features. It was time for Default to re-invent itself. Today, we're launching a new product and announcing our Series A led by 8VC, with participation from Craft Ventures, Tokyo Black, Scribble Ventures, and Jack Altman, bringing us to $20m raised. The product we spent our first two years building was powerful. But it wasn't where the future was headed. Revenue teams have never needed tools less than they do today. But the need—and demand—for better data, intelligence, and infrastructure for go-to-market has never been higher. What we’ve heard from customers over the last few months has been consistent. Everyone is trying to build or buy agents, with limited success and the same bottlenecks: their legacy systems and siloed data are nowhere near ready for them. Today, we're launching the easiest way to deploy revenue agents on a unified, real-time data layer built for go-to-market. Just connect systems of record like Salesforce and HubSpot and Default will sync, enrich, and unify them in a warehouse where agents can use this context to solve the hardest operational challenges and orchestrate workflows like routing, scheduling, and more. To say I'm excited for the future and proud of our team would be a massive understatement. It's Day 1 at Default.

5 agent trends I got from GTM leaders at Ramp, Perplexity, and Replit: 1. Everyone thinks agents-first. Tech stacks, budgets, and headcount are being given to AI. The best companies are building a lot of internal tooling that is not yet commoditized. The best ones have dedicated AI engineers working on it. 2. Everyone can't agree on what an "agent" means. The definition is unclear. Some people say agentic software, some say AI workflow, and some call an LLM prompt an "agent." We're still early, so there is no clear definition, but this doesn't kill the appetite. 3. Everyone doesn't care about the cost. "How many tokens they're burning" is not a concern. We're in the exploration phase and companies are very much open to spending more on agents if it gives them a better way to deploy them. 4. Everyone says scaling agents in an org is hard. My main takeaway is that end user skepticism is high and you need to earn the right that your agents are serving a purpose. It's more of a political challenge than a capabilities one. 5. Everyone thinks agent coordination is hard. The best companies seem to have the agent figure out delegation of tasks to other sub-agents. Some say it's easy. Some say it's very hard to do as you build more than 10 agents.

If you asked 5 people across Sales, Marketing, and RevOps this same question, you’ll get 5 different answers: "What defines a good lead?" 🧪 Feel free to run this experiment at your company, curious to hear the results! Aligning on a shared definition of a “good” or “qualified” lead improves almost everything else across GTM. Doing this... * Clarifies who your ICP really is, making it easier to tailor content and campaigns * Defines what form and enrichment data you need * Makes routing rules more precise, which means fewer deals fall through the cracks * Leads to more accurate reporting, so teams know whether they’re actually hitting goals. For teams that want to actually make this happen (not just agree in a meeting and forget about it), Default is one tool I’ve seen handle this well. You set your ICP definitions, and build all your GTM workflows around it. the definition is applied across forms, routing, enrichment, and reporting. Nothing needs to be not re-implemented in multiple tools. Bonus: Get 2 months free on any plan for up to 10 seats ($1500+ value): https://lnkd.in/gpcgJ557
