Advancing Women, Advancing Transportation

About us

WTS-LA is the Los Angeles chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar, or WTS. An international organization with more than 6,000 members—both women and men—WTS is dedicated to building the future of global transportation through the advancement of women. With its advocacy, WTS turns the glass ceiling into a career portal through professional programs, enhanced networking, and unparalleled access to industry and government leaders. WTS Los Angeles—one of the largest WTS chapters—is a trendsetting, vibrant chapter that provides outstanding advantages to its members through exceptional VIP speakers, pioneering programs, leadership training, high school and university outreach, and mentoring and professional development. In many organizations, the speaker is the only industry leader at an event. We are different. Our audiences are always filled with key decision makers. And you get to meet them and talk with them up close and personal. So, who do you meet in WTS-LA? We are a virtual who’s who of Southern California transportation. Our meetings and events regularly include CEOs and C-suite executives, public sector agency leaders, legislators, journalists, academics, entry-level and mid-career women, and students. That’s who you will meet.

  • 🔮 What does the future of transportation in Los Angeles look like? Last month, WTS-LA welcomed LA Metro Chief Planning Officer Ray Sosa for an insightful discussion on the opportunities, challenges, and investments shaping mobility across Los Angeles County. From Measure M implementation and major corridor projects to preparations for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the conversation highlighted the critical role planning plays in building a more connected, equitable, and resilient transportation system. As Sosa noted during the discussion, transportation planning is not just about delivering projects: it's about creating a system that serves today's needs while preparing for future generations. His perspective offered valuable insights into how Metro is navigating growth, funding challenges, emerging technologies, and evolving travel patterns across the region. Thank you to Ray Sosa, moderator Rebecca Kalauskas, our Platinum Corporate Partner WSP, and everyone who joined us for this engaging program. We also appreciate the support of our sponsors, Parsons Transportation Group and Leon & Walsh Public Affairs, for helping make the event a success. 📖 Read the full event recap: https://lnkd.in/evczRZqe 📸 View the photo gallery: https://lnkd.in/eTEXiYmV
