With support of NL Space Campus and Stellar Space Industries, following concept work at Leidse instrumentmakers School, we were able to prototype our patent-protected aluminium battery reactivation system. This compact low-cost technology lies at the heart of ZemQuest's innovation that shall make #clean #energy #affordable #offgrid. It will semi-automatically reactivate a #ZemBox 10-ft container for #5MWh #energy #storage on-site every day. A game changer for our green energy innovation to work with TU Delft and talented people like ir. Sudarshan Gokul !
What a wonderful journey it has been ! I'm excited to share that I've graduated with a Master's in Sustainable Energy Technology from TU Delft. 🎓 For my thesis, I worked on "Enhancing the performance of Aluminium-Air batteries visa optimisation of cathode and environmentally benign electrolyte" in collaboration with ZemQuest b.v. It was a privilege to work alongside Moumita Rana, Michiel Kruijff and René van Swaaij whose guidance and expertise made this research an incredibly rewarding experience. What I'll take away from this master's extends far beyond a degree. Over the past two years, I've had the opportunity to dive deep into multiple energy technologies, from solar and wind to electrochemical energy storage. Understanding the innate physics, engineering constraints, and trade-offs behind each technology has given me something I value even more: the ability to integrate each of these into a one whole energy system. I've come to realize that the future of energy isn't built by optimizing performance of these technologies in isolation but rather it's built by integrating them intelligently and optimising their utilisation more profitably. That is where I see myself. By combining my domain expertise in sustainable energy with my passion for machine learning and data science, I aim to develop data-driven solutions that help optimize and accelerate the transition to cleaner, smarter energy systems. I enjoy working at the intersection of engineering, systems thinking, and AI where complex problems become opportunities for meaningful impact. I'm incredibly grateful to my professors, mentors, colleagues, friends, and family who supported me throghout my lowest and highest. Thank you for being part of this milestone 🙏 . Now, onto the next chapter. I'm excited for what's ahead, and I look forward to sharing more with you soon 😄 . #Graduation #TUDelft #SustainableEnergy #EnergyTransition #MachineLearning #DataScience #BatteryTechnology #SystemsEngineering #RenewableEnergy #CleanTech

Congratulations and a great thanks go out to Sudarshan Gokul (right) who obtained yesterday his Master Thesis in #Sustainable #Energy #Technology at Delft University of Technology with his valuable (and highly-rated) work on ZemQuest's innovation, entitled "Enhancing the performance of Aluminium Air batteries via optimisation of cathode and environmentally benign electrolyte". With thanks to assistant professor Moumita Rana and witnessed by our previous TU Delft intern Rishab Gupta, as well as current intern Emanuele Piazzon, plus ZemQuest cofounders Gian Mario Rossi and Michiel Kruijff. Supported by the European Commission #JTFRijnmond. Incubated by ESA Business Incubation Centre Noordwijk. Hosted by BioPartner Leiden.

We are having a blast at BioPartner Leiden, happy we decided to have our battery lab here!
Wet, cold and funny… We once more got the full BioPartner Leiden BBQ feeling 😊 At this annual highlight of Dutch summer, we threw our good mood, social networks and game-changing innovations into the ring to brave bad global developments and set our sails for peace, equality and prosperity for everyone ☮️. Thank you for joining me on that “other side” Jane Spirkoski, Wesley Johnson, Esther Peters, Michiel Kruijff, Bas Oudshoorn, Annemarie Spigt, Arian Khoshchin, Vincent Lit, PhD, Paula van Rossum, Giel Hendriks, Hans Peter Mulder, Peter H., Chris Jaeger De Keet - Catering, once again, did their very best to spoil us. "Lekker!"

It has been an amazing year!
The most #rewarding aspect of innovation for me has always been the #team. Today we celebrate ZemQuest b.v. first #anniversary in its revived form. In this year, we have become part of ESA Business Incubation Centre Noordwijk, opened our lab at BioPartner Leiden, started a research program with Delft University of Technology, completed a market readiness program with InnovationQuarter, won the Wubbo Ockels Innovatieprijs audience award, got our first #patent awarded, and, of course, we developed a new class of #green #battery technology. But mostly, we have been a #team of employees, students, freelancers and advisors alike who believe in a #shared mission and are having #fun pursuing it together. The #ZemQuest #community keeps growing - thank you all, I am so happy to have you on-board. ZemQuest is on a #mission to deliver five times more energy in a single transport to #electrify off-grid work sites, using emission-free #aluminium as an energy carrier. Co-funded by the European Union via #JTF #Rijnmond.

At #ZemQuest, a renewable energy storage startup in Leiden, we believe we should be able to respond to #any #question or concern with clarity and decisive facts. And if we cannot, we know what we have to research, analyze or test. This is why we appreciate so much the sometimes unexpected questions and remarks from our #advisors such as our market coach René Olie from @ ESA Business Incubation Centre Noordwijk, The photo shows Rene with Gian Mario Rossi, Michiel Kruijff, David Wielemaker at our lab at BioPartner Leiden during an endurance test of our new, more compact and more easily reactivated aluminium-air battery design. With innovations such as this one, we are making aluminium-air energy practical, compact and affordable. Supported by the European Commission and #JTF #Rijnmond.

Proud to be the first to implement ProjectPal to streamline and make traceable our systems engineering effort!
Last week, Delta-Utec installed the first instance of #ProjectPal with launching customer ZemQuest b.v.. ProjectPal is a lean and highly configurable project and process data management solution for #innovative #startups to better structure the #system #engineering phase of development projects. ProjectPal is the logical successor to Delta-Utec's #ALBATRos for small satellite development following ECSS (2004) and #Xignum #Aerospace for advanced & certifiable drone developments, in line with AS9100 and ARP-4754A (2014).

Last week we validated the aluminium power density predictions for ZemQuest's upcoming out-of-lab mobility demo. Over the last months, we have been redesigning our solid fuel cell to be more compact and more cost-effective over multiple uses. The test yet another to confirm we are on the right path! Kudos to the team members involved: Digott Designs, David Wielemaker, Sudarshan Gokul, Michiel Kruijff, Gian Mario Rossi, Tilen Skobir, Sebastiaan Engelen, Mehmood Sarkhel. More to follow! #TheFutureOfGreenEnergyIsLookingSolid #JTFRijnmond - BioPartner Leiden - NL Space Campus - ESA Business Incubation Centre Noordwijk. Cofunded by the European Union
