The City of Billings is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to perform a variety of duties involved in the enforcement of City parking regulations and provide general information and assistance to the public.
Salary Range: $19.9580 - $23.0720 per hour. Salary reflects Step 4 and Step 7 of a 7-step pay scale. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant's education, experience, and training.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Monitors and patrols designated areas including commercial areas and neighborhoods.
Issues citations as required for parking infractions.
Appropriately handles disputes and complaints with disgruntled vehicle owners.
Ensures safety in Parking Zones such as fire lanes and handicap spaces.
Uses technology in parking enforcement from modern tools like handheld devices and software programs.
Educates the public on parking regulations in a courteous manner.
Assists with traffic control when needed to improve safety and flow of traffic.
Collects and assists in processing parking violation payments.
Completes necessary paperwork such as notice of violation forms.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications And Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) years' experience in cash handling and customer service.
A valid Montana driver's license or one must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
