Digital Health and Obesity Care Access

Could digital health transform access to obesity care? One of the key questions explored at the Economics of Obesity and Metabolic Health Summit was how digital health can complement traditional, in-person care to expand access to effective obesity management. In a thought-provoking discussion, Craig Primack, head of weight loss at hims & hers and practising physician, shared his perspective on the opportunities and challenges of digital obesity care. The conversation examined what distinguishes a credible, comprehensive service from a fragmented one, and whether digital health could help deliver quality obesity care at scale—not just through overstretched specialist clinics, but to people wherever they live. In conversation with Craig Primack MD, FACP, FAAP. MFOMA, Dipl. ABOM, head of weight loss, Hims & Hers, moderated by Elly Vaughan, principal, health policy and insights, Economist Enterprise #EconObesity #Obesity #MetabolicHealth #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #HealthTech #ObesityCare https://lnkd.in/en7xAVdv

Access to quality obesity care shouldn't depend on where someone lives 🎈. Digital health could be a real game changer. What do you see as the biggest opportunity—and the biggest risk—of moving obesity care online 💭?

Digital health has the potential to dramatically expand access to obesity care when paired with evidence-based, patient-centered support. Exciting to see this conversation gaining momentum.

The 'wherever they live' part stood out to me. Access to good care can look very different depending on where someone lives, so it's encouraging to see this conversation happening.
