In financial terms, we have overdrafted the Earth’s biocapacity and are borrowing against our future. Here in Basel, we are living through historic drought and record highs of 40°C. The symptoms are clear. The diagnosis of the cause is overshoot. Today, with Global Footprint Network, we released Prepared for the Predictable?, asking whether governments are preparing their economies for a world in overshoot.
