The White House, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Department of War (DOW) have worked closely with industry partners to enable faster exploit detection and develop a rapid and prioritized response to cyber vulnerabilities across our critical infrastructure sectors. https://lnkd.in/gU6rXaMc

Former Interior Department CISO Lou E. said Anthropic's new Mythos model is "just reducing the timeline even further" on vulnerability exploitation, warning that patching alone can't keep pace and agencies need a zero trust mindset that assumes a breach has already happened. Read what Eichenbaum, CISA and NSA say federal agencies should prioritize as frontier AI reshapes cyber defense: https://lnkd.in/eFjGsmHw

Started a new project: Cyber & Statecraft, a newsletter on cybersecurity policy and state-sponsored cyber activity. First post is live: DHS confirmed a breach of its own intelligence-sharing network in July, weeks after it happened, and only after a journalist broke the story first. I dig into what that timeline actually says about DHS's credibility to enforce the disclosure standards it's currently writing for the rest of the country. If the policy side of security interests you, I'd appreciate a read. #Cybersecurity #InfoSec #PublicPolicy #NationalSecurity

Identity threats don't take a vacation, and neither should your security strategy. In his latest conversation with N2K | CyberWire, our CIO John Cannava explains why the rise of AI is fundamentally changing the identity threat landscape. As attackers become faster and more sophisticated, organizations need to rethink how they protect identities, detect threats, and build resilience. 🎧 Listen here: ow.ly/jQAx30sWUw0

The UK's National Cyber Security Centre has announced Cyber Shield — an AI-powered national defence system designed to automatically scan for security flaws, block known attack networks, and share threat intelligence across government and critical infrastructure in real time. The urgency is real: AI is already helping attackers find weaknesses and run reconnaissance in minutes rather than weeks, and the NCSC warns fully autonomous attacks across entire intrusion chains are coming. The systems at risk include the power grid, water supply, hospitals, and financial networks that ordinary people depend on every day. Cyber Shield is still in early development and faces significant delivery challenges — including getting government, industry, and infrastructure providers to share intelligence in a trusted way. 🔥 #CyberNewsLive https://lnkd.in/e4ytetky

Amazing news from The White House: the new “Gold Eagle” clearinghouse is already bringing government, industry, and open-source partners together to identify AI-discovered cyber vulnerabilities and prioritize patches before adversaries can exploit them. This is the kind of public-private coordination America needs to secure critical infrastructure, strengthen cyber defense, and maintain technological advantage. The NCSC has a plan. Red and blue AI agents. Working together. Finding and fixing vulnerabilities at machine speed. They're calling it Cyber Shield. ComputerWeekly.com asked the industry what they think. Our Field CISO Peter Luban's answer: The UK is dealing with a messy mix of old and new cyber problems. Unpatched systems and exposed access points are still giving attackers room to work. Cyber Shield won't change that on its own. But if government, critical infrastructure, and private industry can actually share intelligence in a way people trust, it could help teams spot risk earlier and move before attackers gain momentum. 📖 https://lnkd.in/eprBYwHx
