The providence of this product was driven by the Government funded Acces to Work scheme. An ergonomic chair with the options of heat pads is nothing new! However the Ember chair is battery powered. (10 hour charge)! Previously, similar chairs had a long power lead that had to be plugged in to power up the heat pads. This design has now been deemed a “trip hazard” by DWP and they are loathed to fund such chairs through A2W. Here’s the solution 🙌

What if we've been asking the wrong question about sitting? For years we've searched for the perfect ergonomic chair—one that promises better posture, less pain, and greater comfort. Today, an exciting new generation of chairs is challenging conventional thinking. From the HÅG Capisco and Aeris Swopper to the QOR360 Ariel 2.0 and NuChair, designers are recognizing that movement—not just support—is essential. But here's the question that kept coming back to me: Can a chair actually teach us how to sit? In my latest article, I explore the evolution of modern task chairs, what each design gets right, and why I believe the missing ingredient isn't another chair—it's developing the awareness and movement skills that make any chair work better. If you spend hours sitting at a desk, this may change the way you think about your chair... and yourself. Unconventional setting. Completely valid science. Proper chair height means knees slightly below your hips, feet flat on the floor, and enough stability to feel grounded in your seat. When those three things are true, your body isn't fighting your furniture — it's supported by it. Most employees are sitting in chairs that were never adjusted for them. Wrong height, wrong depth, wrong lumbar position. Over time, that adds up to fatigue, discomfort, and lost productivity. At Main Street Office, ergonomics is part of every workplace project we take on. Because the right chair isn't just about comfort — it's about how your people perform over the long haul. (And yes, we tested it on a paddleboard. The principle holds.) #Ergonomics #OfficeChair #WorkplaceWellness #MainStreetOffice #OfficeDesign

Most people blame their chair. The real problem is where they’re working. This image shows what happens when we turn the sofa into an office. ❌ Forward head posture increases stress on the neck and shoulders. ❌ Rounded shoulders overload the upper back and accelerate muscle fatigue. ❌ Poor lumbar support puts unnecessary pressure on the spine and discs. ❌ Awkward wrist positioning increases the risk of repetitive strain injuries. ❌ Restricted leg movement reduces circulation and can lead to tingling and numbness. The result? 👉 Neck pain 👉 Back pain 👉 Wrist discomfort 👉 Reduced energy 👉 Lower productivity The good news? Most of these problems are preventable. A proper home office setup should include: ✅ A height-adjustable workstation that allows you to alternate between sitting and standing ✅ Proper monitor positioning at eye level ✅ Ergonomic arm and wrist support ✅ Adequate lumbar support ✅ Freedom to move throughout the day At Bürolife, we designed FlexiSmart to solve exactly these challenges by combining a height-adjustable workstation, standing desk, presentation station, monitor support, and compact storage into one mobile ergonomic workspace. If you’re working from home, don’t adapt your body to your furniture. Adapt your workspace to your body. 👉 Discover how to create a healthier and more productive home office: https://burolife.de What is the biggest ergonomic challenge in your current workspace? #Ergonomics #HomeOffice #RemoteWork #WorkplaceWellness #Productivity #HealthAtWork #HybridWork #OfficeDesign #WorkFromHome #StandingDesk #BackPain #NeckPain #FutureOfWork #Burolife #FlexiSmart

Do you constantly find yourself sliding forward in your office chair, no matter how often you fix your posture? It might not be a posture problem at all. Many standard office chairs are designed around the dimensions of an average man. For people with shorter legs or different body proportions, the seat can simply be too deep. The result? You slide forward just to stay comfortable, leaving your lower back unsupported. In our latest article, we explain why this happens, why a back cushion isn't a real solution, and the chair adjustments that actually make a difference. If you've ever wondered why you can never seem to stay comfortably against the backrest, this is a must-read. Designing for Health: Why Ergonomics is a Business Strategy We often measure office productivity through metrics, software, and timelines. But there’s a hidden catalyst that directly impacts output: physical comfort. With corporate professionals spending over 8–10 hours a day at their desks, a poorly designed chair or an unoptimized desk height isn't just uncomfortable. it’s a health liability that leads to fatigue, low morale, and absenteeism. Ergonomics in the modern workplace is no longer a luxury; it’s a critical business strategy. When we design spaces with adjustable sit-to-stand desks, intuitive task chairs, and personalized workspace layouts, we aren't just selling modular furniture. We are investing in human capital. Healthy employees create thriving businesses. #EmployeeWellbeing #Ergonomics #Productivity #WorkplaceHealth #OfficeFurniture #HumanCentricDesign

For over 100 years, office chairs have tried to improve posture by tilting the body backwards and supporting the lower back with lumbar support. Yet despite decades of this approach, hunched postures and forward head positions remain a familiar sight in workplaces everywhere. What if we started from a different place? By focusing on sit-bone balance, thoracic support, and natural movement, we believe there could be another way to support people while they work. #AirPoise #ErgoChair #Ergonomics #WorkplaceDesign #OfficeFurniture #HealthyWorkplace #DesignInnovation #ProductDesign #WorkplaceWellbeing #OfficeDesign #SeatingDesign #IndustrialDesign #FutureOfWork #FurnitureDesign #Posture #MovementMatters #Innovation #Workspace #DesignThinking #BritishDesign
