RCGF 2026-2027 Applications Open for Scottish Local Authorities

The council looks set to launch a new grant fund of almost £895,000 to support communities near a major development site in Corby. A proposal to introduce a Development Impact Fund, utilising a Section 106 (S106) agreement linked to the Magna Park site, will be discussed by Councillors next week. If approved, the fund would allow investment in projects designed to mitigate the impact of the large-scale development. It is anticipated that that the fund will be open to a range of organisations including community groups and local town and parish councils, as well as council services such as country parks and woodlands, for projects like improvements to community facilities, public spaces and environmental initiatives: https://ow.ly/GVFT50ZkZ9M

Through targeted financial support, the grant fund will help bring vacant premises back into use while supporting both new and existing businesses to start, grow, or expand their operations. By encouraging investment in the town centre, the project aims to increase visitor numbers, boost local spending, strengthen the local economy, and support long-term community regeneration. Since its establishment, the Community Housing Transformation Centre has leveraged federal funding with provincial and other partner investments, supported pre-development work, strengthened organizational capacity, and driven innovation across the non-market community housing sector. However, the CHTC’s current funding is set to expire in March 2028. CHRA strongly recommends that the federal government make a long-term investment into strengthening the non-market community housing sector by providing the Community Housing Transformation Centre with stable funding to 2038.
