#MoneyToday | How can I determine whether my current monthly NPS contribution, asset allocation are sufficient to achieve my desired retirement corpus? The burden of retirement contribution limits falls largely on individuals and without a structured plan in place many Americans will reach retirement age underfunded. Incremental increases to retirement contribution limits are helpful, but they do not solve the real problem for employees as they have not kept pace with inflation or the rising cost of living. Stronger incentives, higher required savings levels and tighter restrictions on early access are some of the ways employers and the government can play a more active role. The people who are most prepared often aren’t the highest earners. They’re the ones who decided early on that saving wasn’t optional. The Department of Labor is reshaping how retirement plans communicate to ensure everyone gets critical information at regular intervals. The newly proposed rule under SECURE 2.0 would require retirement plans to provide at least one paper statement each year for defined contribution plans and one every three years for defined benefit plans. Additionally, plans must give notice explaining the right to opt out of electronic delivery. https://lnkd.in/ehnb9wvg

What do you think? Would getting a paper statement once a year help ensure participants stay connected & engaged with their 401(K) plan?

One of the biggest patterns I've noticed is that many people wait until retirement is right around the corner before asking important questions. By then, some opportunities may be limited. The years leading up to retirement are often the best time to review: • Your retirement income strategy • Social Security timing • Tax planning opportunities • Healthcare and Medicare decisions Planning isn't about predicting the future. It's about giving yourself more choices. If retirement is on the horizon, now is a great time to step back and ask: "Does my current plan still fit the retirement I want?"

Healthcare professionals often work longer and earn more in late-career years—changing their entire retirement income strategy. 💡 More working years mean more accumulation time and higher investment risk capacity. 📘 But their expertise also means greater awareness of long-term care and healthcare risks. 🔎 This combination requires tailored investment, tax, and withdrawal strategies—not generic advice. You may begin thinking seriously about retirement long before you stop working. We often see the decision come down to understanding whether your income, investments, taxes, and spending plan can support the lifestyle you want once your paycheck ends. Some of the planning decisions that shape that transition could include: • When to begin Social Security benefits • How retirement income will be generated • Which accounts to withdraw from first • How healthcare and Medicare fit into the plan • How taxes may change once employment income ends Looking at those decisions together can help determine not only when retirement may be possible, but how it can be supported over the years that follow.
