Expand Energy added 82,500 acres across the Haynesville and Marcellus in the third quarter, including about 75,000 acres in the western Haynesville through targeted leasing and acquisitions. Rockcliff Energy recently acquired Pine Wave Energy Partners’ East Texas assets, including 29,000 acres, 25 operated wells, and gathering infrastructure in San Augustine and Shelby Counties. 📊 With DT Midstream’s LEAP pipeline system now reaching around 1.9 Bcf per day of capacity, the corridor continues to see steady upstream and midstream investment. Akin advised Energy Transfer LP on the formation of a strategic joint venture with Enbridge Inc. to construct, own and operate the Southern Illinois Connector project, a new 24-inch crude oil pipeline that will connect the Platte Pipeline near Wood River, Illinois to the Energy Transfer Crude Oil Pipeline (ETCOP) near Patoka, Illinois.  The project, which will be jointly owned 50/50 by Energy Transfer and Enbridge, was recently sanctioned after the companies completed an open season that resulted in 100,000 Bbls/day of long-term contracts that provide shippers with full-path crude oil pipeline transportation service from Western Canada to Nederland, Texas on the U.S. Gulf Coast.  The Akin team was led by energy transactions partner Trent Bridges and counsel Thomas Hillebrand and included fellow energy transactions partner Charlie Ofner; tax partners Alison Chen and Julia Pashin; and associates Samir Halawi, Hailey Marino, Emily Varley, Brannen Caraway and Meggie Weiler.
