Physical security, especially access control data is a commercial real estate investment signal, and Mark Ein, Co-Chairman of Kastle Systems, will be on CNBC's Closing Bell with Scott Wapner to explain. Kastle has access control data from over 3,500 buildings in 138 cities. I got early access to it and here are a few interesting data points: Class A+ buildings are averaging 72.5% weekly occupancy. The 10-city average is 53.2%(...that's a 19 point gap...hmm). On peak days, Class A+ hits 85.6%. The broader market hits 62%. What I love about this is that Kastle is showing that access control data can drive investment decisions. It is no longer just about keeping bad people out, locking and unlocking doors. The DFW office market showed encouraging signs of continued recovery in Q2 2026. After a challenging start to the year, the market posted nearly 939,000 sq. ft. of positive net absorption, vacancy declined to 25.0%, and asking rents continued to climb. The improvement was driven by demand across both Class A and Class B properties, while a more measured construction pipeline is helping the market gradually rebalance. While there is still work to do, the data suggests DFW office fundamentals are continuing to move in the right direction. Strong performances in submarkets like Far North Dallas, Richardson/Plano, and Uptown/Turtle Creek highlight where tenant activity is gaining momentum.
