Trust isn't something you can quote for. It's something you earn. Over the last year, we've been working with a group of NHS England GP Practices on a project to completely rethink how print works across nine individual surgeries. Every practice was different. Different buildings, different teams and different ways of working. The easy option would have been to replace what was already there. Instead, we challenged the existing setup, looked at how each surgery actually operated and designed a solution around the people using it every day. By taking that approach, we achieved: ✔️ 129 devices reduced to just 32 strategically located devices ✔️ Lower running costs and reduced energy consumption ✔️ Larger central devices to handle higher print volumes while providing additional prescription printing capacity ✔️ Secure PIN release printing to improve document security ✔️ Prescription printing maintained across all dispensary areas with dual, lockable paper tray devices ✔️ Toner recycling and lower carbon emissions ✔️ Supports workplace health and wellbeing by encouraging staff to move away from individual desktop printers ✔️ A simpler, more efficient print environment that's easier to manage and support ✔️ A long-term partner committed to supporting the surgeries beyond the installation The NHS doesn't hand opportunities like this to just any company. Before you can even provide managed print services to NHS GP Practices, you first have to become an approved supplier. From there, you have to understand the environment, appreciate that patient care always comes first, and deliver exactly what you say you will. For a business that's only been trading since 2024, earning the trust of a group of NHS GP Practices means a great deal to us. It's a reflection of the relationships we've built, the hard work of the whole team, and the way we approach every project, always putting our customers' best interests at the centre of every decision. We don't start with products. We start with problems. The picture below shows the final five devices leaving our PDI centre before heading to the last surgery, bringing a fantastic project to a close. A great example of what can be achieved when you take the time to understand your customer's needs first. KYOCERA Document Solutions UK Lexmark NHS England

Some labels carry more than information. They carry responsibility. A patient wristband, a specimen label or a medication label may seem like a small part of the care process, but each plays an important role in helping the right patient receive the right care at the right time. That is why every label matters. Clear, accurate and easy-to-scan labelling helps clinicians identify patients, keep samples traceable and reduce the risk of medication errors, supporting patient safety at every stage of care. Consistently delivering that level of accuracy starts with reliable label printing. In our latest blog, we explore how the XD7-20d-H supports accurate patient identification, specimen traceability and reliable barcode scanning across healthcare environments, combining: 🔸 Fast, clear output with up to 8 ips and 203 dpi resolution 🔸 Optional 300 dpi resolution for smaller text and detailed barcodes 🔸 Disinfectant-ready materials and an IEC 60601-1 medical-grade power supply Read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/dWgjWJvE #BIXOLON #HealthcarePrinting #PatientSafety #LabelPrinting #Traceability #HealthcareTechnology

Standardising patient ID wristbands across multiple hospital sites doesn’t have to mean replacing printers. The biggest gains come from consistent layouts, clear data rules, validated barcode scanning, aligned print triggers, and simple SOPs—improving safety, reducing reprints, and making workflows easier for staff.

Ask a charge nurse where the downtime box is. They'll know exactly. It's usually a plastic bin with pre-printed forms, a stack of blank labels, and a Sharpie that may or may not still write. That box is the backup plan for when the EMR goes down. And for labels, the plan usually comes down to this: write the patient's name by hand and hope it's still legible on a specimen tube at 3 a.m. Handwriting a label works right up until it doesn't. Two patients with close names. A rushed zero that reads like a six. A wristband that smudges before the blood ever reaches the lab. None of that is rare. It's just what happens when the tool everyone relies on for identification vanishes and the fallback is a marker. EMR Downtime Label Printing keeps real labels and wristbands coming out while the main system is offline. Same barcodes, same format, nothing handwritten. Staff don't have to learn anything new in the middle of an outage, because it prints the way labels always have. We built this at Conpotio because we've stood at that printer during a go-live and seen what a downtime actually does to a floor. Less dramatic than a headline, more consequential than most plans account for. If you've worked a downtime, you already know which box I'm talking about.
