Strong momentum. Marketplace has evolved into a strategic growth platform, not just a sales channel.
The FY27 focus on partner-led transactions, channel activation, and co-sell will help partners scale faster, reach new customers, and drive measurable business outcomes.
Looking forward to seeing these investments accelerate partner success. 👏🚀
There’s something really interesting happening with Microsoft Marketplace right now. It’s becoming less of a place where offers sit and more of the connective tissue for how partners find each other, build together, and make it easier for customers to buy in ways they can trust.
This matters because growth in this chapter is coming from the quality of the ecosystem supporting the customer. Software companies bring the innovation. Channel partners bring the relationships, services, and local context. Microsoft Marketplace provides the commercial path at scale.
Partners should pay attention to the FY27 priorities: expanding partner-led transactions globally, helping channel partners activate faster, strengthening co-sell, and improving how customers discover and move forward with the right solutions (not necessarily in priority order).
Marketplace growth is Microsoft ecosystem growth. When we make the motion simpler and expand that simplicity to more markets, we're enabling partners to spend more time doing the work of helping customers get to better outcomes.

My 4 takeaways:
• Marketplace continues to grow fast — customers increasingly want to buy through the platforms they already trust.
• AI success will come from ecosystems, not individual companies.
• Marketplace is becoming a core growth engine for partners, not just another route to market.
• If you don't have a marketplace strategy, you need one, check out our skilling pathways to get started.
Lots of opportunity ahead for partners who can combine technology, services and expertise to help customers realize value from AI. 🚀

Red Hat & Microsoft’s strategic partnership just leveled up! 🚀
Microsoft’s expansion of multiparty private offers to Australia🇦🇺 , Japan🇯🇵 , and South Africa🇿🇦 is a major win for our shared ecosystem.
Seamless Co-selling: Red Hat solutions and local partner services can now be purchased in a single Marketplace transaction.
Maximize Budgets: Eligible purchases count directly toward our shared customers' Azure consumption commitments.
Larger Deals: Marketplace transactions drive deals that are on average 85% larger than traditional sales motions.
Together, we're empowering local partners and making it easier for mutual customers to buy through the local relationships they already trust. 🌍🤝

Partner-led growth is entering its next phase, and Microsoft Marketplace continues to be a key driver of that transformation. 🚀
As AI adoption accelerates, customers are looking for integrated solutions that bring together cloud, AI, and trusted partner expertise—delivered through procurement experiences that align with how they buy in local markets.
The expansion of multiparty private offers to Australia, Japan, and South Africa is another important step forward.
For partners building cloud solutions, applications, and AI agents, this creates a faster path to new markets by leveraging established partner ecosystems and local expertise—without the complexity of standing up country-specific operations.
For partners delivering cloud services, it provides another way to differentiate, deepen strategic co-sell relationships, and accelerate larger, higher-value customer engagements.
Marketplace continues to evolve as more than a transaction platform—it’s becoming a strategic growth engine for partners looking to scale globally and capitalize on the AI opportunity.

Marketplace sales have doubled year over year for three consecutive years, reflecting a fundamental shift in how customers want to discover, buy, and deploy technology.
As AI moves into production, success will depend on ecosystems—not just technology. In my latest blog, I share how we're investing in Microsoft Marketplace to help software companies, channel partners, and Microsoft grow together, simplify co-sell, and accelerate customer outcomes in FY27.
We're just getting started, and I'm excited for what's ahead.

The opportunity for software companies to scale globally has never been greater. In an insightful article, Marc Havercroft discusses how Microsoft Marketplace is assisting partners in accelerating growth, simplifying procurement, and reaching new customers through a platform that is increasingly becoming a preferred route to market.
For partners across Australia and Asia Pacific, Marketplace is demonstrating its potential to:
✅ Unlock faster deal cycles
✅ Streamline enterprise procurement
✅ Enable co-sell opportunities
✅ Drive new revenue streams and geographic expansion
As organizations continue their AI and cloud transformation journeys, Marketplace is emerging as a critical growth engine for both partners and customers. This article is well worth a read for any software company aiming to scale its business and maximize the value of the Microsoft ecosystem.
Thanks, Marc, for sharing these insights.

If PRACR was your evidence for co-sell impact that evidence no longer works in FY27.
As of July 1st, PRACR stopped functioning as a broad co-sell mechanism.
I’m not afraid to say I told you so!
This may upset some people who have been rejecting Marketplace over the last 3 years but…..here we are!
Marketplace is now the primary way Microsoft recognizes partner impact at scale, through Marketplace Billed Sales automated, verifiable, no partner self-reporting required.
Translation: if the deal didn't transact through Marketplace, it doesn't count toward co-sell. Full stop.
🤔 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜'𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗔𝗟, 𝘀𝗼 𝗜'𝗺 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲.
I'd stop you right there. PAL is solid for tracking influenced revenue and earning Partner Earned Credit as a services partner but it was never designed to prove software co-sell performance, and Microsoft's own rules for software creators make that distinction explicit.
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗔𝗟 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱:
1. You can't clear the validation bar for Solutions Partner with Certified Software Designation on PAL data. Microsoft requires an actual published, transactable Marketplace offer.
2. The trailing-12-month revenue milestones that unlock Azure IP co-sell benefits run on Marketplace Billed Sales.
PAL activity doesn't move that number.
3. The best partner-led incentives and marketplace rewards are gated to transactable Marketplace solutions only.
👇 𝗦𝗼….𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂?
1. Already transacting through Marketplace? Good. The ecosystem is bending in your favor. Keep scaling.
2. Something's blocking you from transacting? This isn't a "someday" problem anymore. Map the gap now.
3. Been leaning on PRACR or PAL as your proof of impact? Neither holds up under FY27's rules.
Time to rebuild the motion.
This isn't Microsoft nudging partners toward Marketplace.
It's Microsoft making Marketplace 𝘁𝗵𝗲 mechanism and that pressure only increases every year.
💬 𝗦𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄?
If you're not 100% sure, that's worth finding out before it costs you co-sell status.
I’ll run a free GTM assessment that maps exactly where your gaps are against FY27 requirements.
Reach out if you want eyes on it.
FY27 is already on fire!!!!🔥

Microsoft quietly announced something big: PRACR is no longer a co-sell mechanism in FY27.
If your co-sell motion was built around PRACR reporting, that motion no longer exists.
Effective July 1st, Marketplace is the only path to co-sell credit at scale.
Marketplace Billed Sales is how Microsoft now recognizes partner impact - which is a shift to a more transparent, automated, and verifiable transaction model.
That means that if your deals aren't transacting through Marketplace, they aren't counting towards co-sell.
Here's what to do with this.
→ Already transacting through Marketplace? Keep going. This works in your favor as the field shifts toward partners who are ready.
→ Have gaps preventing Marketplace transactions? This is urgent. Get with your team and map the path to transactability now.
→ Been relying on PRACR to demonstrate co-sell impact? You need a new approach. The evidence Microsoft recognizes in FY27 runs through Marketplace.
Marketplace-first isn't a preference anymore. It's the mechanism.
What does your Marketplace readiness look like?

This is a huge change to be aware of - PRACR is no more! The focus is 100% marketplace and your alliance/sales teams need to adjust to this! Make sure your registered for MCAPS Start for Partners happening this week (reach out to your PDM for details). #Microsoft#Partner#SDC#ISV
