A few days on from Dentally Live and I'm still reflecting on what a great event it was. As one of the first events of its kind for Dentally, it was fantastic to bring together customers, partners and our team for honest conversations about the future of dentistry, the opportunities ahead, and the challenges practices are navigating every day. I had the privilege of leading a session on changing practice management systems and what it really takes to set a practice up for success. Thank you Felicity Bender and Duncan Wright for your insights and sharing your experience. Whilst every practice is different, one thing stood out throughout the day. Many of the challenges are shared. Whether it's finding more time, improving the patient experience, embracing AI, or driving growth, practices are often trying to solve the same problems. What excites me most is the opportunity in front of our industry. The conversation around AI is becoming more practical, innovation is moving at an incredible pace, and practices are more engaged than ever in shaping what comes next. The discussions throughout the day reinforced just how much appetite there is for technology that removes friction, creates time and helps teams deliver an even better patient experience. I also came away incredibly proud of what the Dentally team is building. Seeing our customers react to the product roadmap, share feedback and challenge our thinking was a brilliant reminder that the best innovation happens when you build alongside the people who use your product every day. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, shared their experiences and helped make the event what it was. The energy, openness and willingness to collaborate is exactly why I love being part of Dentistry and Dentally. Already looking forward to the next one. #Dentallylive #Dentistry #AI #DentallyPulse #Dentaltechnology James HarkerRick GayDuncan LeslieChristina PatrickJordan HardemanYasmin Kinkaid

Job done! Finally, here's a short carousel compiled by Agustín Sánchez Durán showcasing our collaborative work on AI in dentistry. I hope you find it useful

The full argument is simple: Part I — Dental AI has arrived, but most of it is still assistance, not transformation. Part II — Dentistry is behind medicine in AI, but that may be its opportunity. Part III — The real battle will not be detection. It will be workflow control. Across the series, we discussed companies and ecosystems including Pearl, OVERJET, Videa Health, DentalMonitoring, Diagnocat, Relu, Neocis, 3Shape, Align Technology, DEXIS, Planmeca, Dentsply Sirona, Henry Schein One, Dentrix Ascend, DS Core, Straumann Group and SprintRay Inc.. Not as a ranking: As a map of where adoption, value and control may be moving. Our final conclusion: The winners in Dental AI will not be decided by the best demo. Last month, we had the opportunity to join the DC Dental Society for an evening of learning and discussion around one of dentistry's fastest-evolving topics: AI in clinical practice. Jessica Klabak, DDS, MPH, discussed how clinicians can evaluate AI responsibly, understand FDA-cleared technology, integrate AI into everyday workflows, and ultimately improve diagnostic consistency, patient communication, and clinical decision-making - without compromising clinical autonomy. Thank you to the DC Dental Society for bringing together such an engaged group of dental professionals committed to shaping the future of patient care. Conversations like these are what move our industry forward. #DentalAI #ClinicalInnovation #ContinuingEducation #Videa #DentalTechnology

Everyone is talking about bringing AI into dental practices. But where do you actually start? Not with 15 different tools. Start with the areas where your team is already spending significant time, answering repetitive questions, handling patient communication, explaining insurance and fees, and supporting clinical workflows. Dr. Kathryn Alderman, EMBA suggests to start with these 3 AI agents: AI Voice & Communication Agent For calls, FAQs, scheduling and routine patient communication. Insurance & Fees Agent For answering common questions around coverage, estimates, fees and financial conversations. Diagnostic Support Agent For helping clinicians interpret information and support more efficient clinical workflows, while keeping clinical judgment where it belongs: with the dentist. The goal isn’t to replace your team. It’s to stop using valuable human time on work that technology can increasingly support. I broke down these three starting points in this carousel. If you could implement just ONE AI agent in your practice tomorrow, which would you choose: 1, 2 or 3? #DentalAI #Dentistry #DentalPractice #ArtificialIntelligence #DentalTechnology

Thank you for inviting me to the podcast about where dental practices should begin with AI. Here is the truth: Most dental practices do not need 15 more apps. - They need consolidation. - They need simplicity. - They need to stop paying for five platforms that each do 20% of the same job. Because more software and AI tools does not automatically create a smarter practice. Sometimes it just creates: - More logins. - More dashboards. - More duplicated work. - More team confusion. - And a much more expensive mess. My work is focused on helping dental practices turn disconnected software, underused features, and scattered AI tools into one clear, simplified, AI-supported workflow. We look at what you already have and ask: - What should stay? - What overlaps? - What are you paying for but not using? - What can be automated? - What can be consolidated? - What can save the team time and the practice money? - The goal is not to collect AI tools like souvenirs. The goal is: Fewer systems. Cleaner workflows. Lower costs. Better decisions. More profitability. AI should reduce complexity, not become another line item your team quietly resents. The best technology stack is not the biggest one. It is the one your team can actually use. Check out the podcast episode with Dr Andaleeb Zaidi. 🚨 AI in dentistry just reached another milestone. Aspen Dental has expanded VideoHealth's AI platform across its entire network in the U.S. This isn't just another technology rollout. It's a clear sign that AI is becoming part of the day-to-day operations of modern dental practices—helping teams streamline workflows, improve patient communication, and create more efficient clinical experiences. The bigger takeaway? Technology alone doesn't transform a practice. The real advantage comes from combining AI with strong operational processes, trained teams, and an efficient Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) strategy. Practices that embrace innovation while optimizing their front office and billing operations will be better positioned to: ✅ Reduce administrative workload ✅ Improve patient experience ✅ Speed up reimbursements ✅ Increase operational efficiency ✅ Allow providers to spend more time focused on patient care AI isn't replacing people. It's helping great teams work smarter. The future of dentistry isn't just digital—it's intelligent. What role do you think AI will play in your dental practice over the next 2–3 years? #Dentistry #DentalAI #ArtificialIntelligence #DentalTechnology #RevenueCycleManagement #DentalPracticeManagement #HealthcareInnovation #DentalBilling #FutureOfDentistry #RCM

Watch what started from a simple LinkedIn conversation... A few months ago, I started a conversation with the wonderful Dr. Vivian Nzegbulem after connecting here on LinkedIn. She shared an idea she had for using AI to automate repetitive communication tasks in dentistry. What began as a conversation quickly evolved into brainstorming sessions, challenging ideas, and exploring what was truly possible. Fast forward to today, and Dental Amplify is here. One of the most exciting developments has been creating an AI replica of me that can guide patients through their SureSmile aligner journey… answering common questions, reinforcing instructions, and providing support whenever they need it. And that's only scratching the surface of what this technology can do. This is what excites me most about AI in dentistry. It's not about replacing people; it's about enhancing the patient experience, improving consistency, and giving clinicians more time to focus on patient care. I'm incredibly proud of Vivian for turning an idea into reality, and grateful to have played a small part in the journey. I genuinely believe we're only at the beginning of what's possible. Sometimes, all it takes is one conversation, one connection, and the willingness to explore an idea together. Here's to innovation, collaboration, and shaping the future of dentistry. https://dentalamplify.com #LinkedIn #Innovation #ArtificialIntelligence #Dentistry #DentsplySironaSureSmile #Aligner #DigitalDentistry #PatientExperience #DentalAmplify #FutureOfDentistry #Collaboration

If you've been pitched AI for your dental practice/DSO in the last year, you already know the pattern: flawless demo, confident promises, and no clear answer on what happens when a payer changes the rules, a workflow hits an edge case, or the tool has to hold up across every location. That gap is exactly why most deployments underperform. This piece gives dental leaders a five-point checklist to pressure-test any vendor: accuracy, explainability, whether it adapts, whether it scales across locations, and whether HIPAA is real or just a line on a slide. DEO: The Dentist Entrepreneur Organization's guide breaks down the five questions that tell you which kind of AI you're really looking at. Six months into digging through the reality of the dental revenue cycle, and I'll be honest — it's been humbling. Here's what I've learned building our product and studying competitors: the model is maybe 10% of the problem. The real work is understanding messy data and how DSOs actually run, then building something adaptable, reliable, and consistent from location #1 to location #50. Because one wrong payment posted or one bad eligibility check hits the bottom line. Most AI in dentistry demos beautifully, then falls apart the moment it touches a real revenue cycle. The data backs it up: 80% of enterprise AI projects fail, and it's rarely the model's fault. It was built for a demo, not for the mess of payer rules and denied claims. Kapil Shukla lays out the five questions every practice should ask before picking an AI partner. Worth a read. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gUec8_tj #DentalRCM #RevenueCycleManagement #AIinHealthcare #DSO #DentalIndustry #HealthTech #ProductManagement #RevenueRecovery
