From 197 regional events in 2021/22 to 347 in 2025/26 — PSIA-AASI Western has nearly doubled its calendar of member programming. The shift is intentional: 2/3 of the calendar now focuses on education rather than exams. The result? Education registrations have doubled from 1,264 to 2,413 in the same period. Access to professional development shouldn't be limited to exam cycles. For more facts: https://lnkd.in/efNkbB3U . #PSIAAASI #SnowSports #ProfessionalDevelopment #ContinuousLearning

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 The #IB is committed to working alongside schools, policymakers and education partners across #Indonesia to expand access to learning and support the development of future-ready learners. Through collaboration and a shared commitment to educational excellence, we continue to strengthen opportunities for students and educators across the country. At the heart of this commitment is the strong partnership between the IB, the Ministry of Education and educational bodies, including Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama (SPK), the National Police, Yayasan Kemala Bhayangkari and Yayasan Taruna Bhayangkara, and the Kader Bangsa Foundation (YPKBI). At two events held this month in Indonesia, discussions highlighted the strong alignment between Indonesia’s educational aspirations and the IB’s philosophy, demonstrating how the IB supports schools in preparing young people to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. Reflecting on these discussions, Prof. Dr. Ravik Karsidi, M.S, representative of SPK, shared: “We appreciated the great presentations and discussions with IB representatives, especially as we are working to implement quality standards and evaluation processes in SPK schools- let us continue this collaboration!” IB representatives shared perspectives that echoed this commitment: “Indonesia is one of the most dynamic education ecosystems in the world, and this session reflects the depth of commitment on both sides. The alignment between IB frameworks and SPK standards is not incidental – it is substantive, and it gives us a strong foundation to build on. Our goal is to make it easier for Indonesian schools to deliver IB programmes with confidence, within the country's own regulatory context, while ensuring that access to high-quality education continues to benefit the students. We are proud to support Indonesia’s efforts to realise that vision.” — Stefanie Leong, Head of China, Mongolia, Southeast Asia & Oceania “The clear synergies between an IB education and SPK are useful points of cohesion we can continue to empower our schools to use when implementing quality IB learning for human flourishing in Indonesia!” — Dr. Florian Ciprian Baciu, IBWS Senior Manager Learn how you can join our growing IB community in Indonesia >> https://lnkd.in/gZjH2txb #IBAPAC #education

🚀 Towards a Flexible and Student‑Oriented Curriculum in Indonesia Indonesia’s current curriculum remains rigid and uniform, limiting students’ freedom to explore their interests and talents. This rigidity suppresses motivation, hinders creativity, and risks producing graduates unprepared for the demands of the 21st century. 📊 My brief analysis study highlights: - Evidence from national and international research showing flexibility boosts motivation and well‑being. - Systemic barriers rooted in regulation, teacher capacity, and infrastructure inequality. - Strategic solutions: hybrid national‑local curriculum, teacher empowerment, decentralization, and data‑driven monitoring. ✨ A flexible curriculum is not just a pedagogical choice — it is a national strategy to prepare Indonesia’s youth to thrive in a global, digital future. This study was developed in fulfillment of the assignment requirements for Reformer Incubation 2026 organized by Indonesian Institute for Education Reform, 10 April – 29 May 2026. #IIER2026 #ReformerIncubation #ReformerCollective

80% of the teachers in Indonesia are using digital learning technologies and resources in the teaching and learning process voluntarily because the digital platforms are making their work easy. This is indeed a focused approach that should be emulated by many African countries. Indonesia has the highest learner screen time in the world, meaning learners there are using digital devices to access digital content whether in school or at home. Interesting conversation taking place at the ongoing eLearning Africa Conference in Accra, Ghana. Data from UNESCO/UNICEF. Evans Rotich, Levi Lunani, Michael Wachira, #eLA26

Our team in Türkiye and the country’s Ministry of National Education recently delivered the National Policy Dialogue on Innovation and Technology in English Language Education in Ankara. Over two days, senior representatives from across Türkiye’s education system came together, including colleagues from curriculum, assessment and delivery bodies, the Board of Education, ÖSYM, Ministry Directorates General, universities, and schools. The breadth of participation reflected a shared commitment to exploring how technology, including AI, can enhance teaching and learning in meaningful and sustainable ways. What stands out most is the strength of the partnership between the British Council team in Türkiye and the Ministry of Education’s Directorate General for Innovation and Educational Technologies. Together, they are creating the conditions for long-term, system-level impact in English language education. We look forward to building on this momentum through continued collaboration, supporting innovative classroom practice and sustainable models for teacher professional development. #Türkiye #EnglishLanguageEducation #BritishCouncil

I share my journey through 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, organized by the Indonesian Institute for Education Reform (IIER). This program provided a unique opportunity to develop and refine my policy analysis and research. During the program, I analyzed systemic challenges in achieving Angka Partisipasi Murni (APM) or school Enrollment rate at SMP (Junior Highschool) and SMA (Senior Highschool) levels in top cities. Despite high fiscal capacity, some cities face persistent gaps: for instance, only around 70% of high school-aged students in certain urban areas are enrolled in formal education, highlighting structural and socio-economic barriers. Our research also examined the implementation of the Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP), revealing disparities in allocation, delays in early identification of at-risk students, and the need for leverage points such as early warning systems, automated PIP activation, and local-level data transparency. Being part of 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 allowed me to transform these insights into actionable recommendations for policy, demonstrating how evidence-based interventions can strengthen education access and equity. A special thanks to Indonesian Institute for Education Reform team for this invaluable experience and mas Rafsi A. #IIER2026 #ReformerIncubation #ReformerCollective

Raising Indonesia's PISA scores matters. But not at the expense of students' and teachers' social-emotional skills and happiness. The two were never a necessary trade-off. Academic results and wellbeing can — and should — reinforce one another, especially over the long term. Being part of this global SSES network as the only site in Indonesia, and the only one in Southeast Asia, has only deepened our conviction. As the smallest district in Central Java (but one with big dreams), that's a responsibility we don't take lightly. And after years of work and iteration, it's encouraging to see academic results and wellbeing rise together in Kudus — and to learn from other cities seeing the same. Thank you to the OECD for the data, community and thought leadership that help make this work possible. #SSES #SocialEmotionalLearning #Indonesia #Kudus #OECD
OECD data is making a difference around the world. In the mid-sized Indonesian city of Kudus, data from the OECD Survey on Social and Emotional Skills (SSES) is being used for benchmarking, program design and public communication. Felicia Hanitio and Marcella Marissa from the PT DJARUM Foundation explain how the goal is for students to have both strong academic results and strong wellbeing, not one or the other. They used the data to: ▶️ Integrate Social and Emotional Learning across 88 schools: 1,900 teachers and over 84,000 students in whole-school transformation programmes since 2023. Partner schools outperform others in literacy and numeracy, and students enjoy school more. ▶️ Build active lifestyle habits: Movement programmes involving 1,400+ schools in Kudus and 11 other cities. In one Kudus-based programme, the majority of students progressed from “low” to “moderate” fitness in 6 months. ▶️ Foster peer learning across SSES sites: Djarum Foundation visited Gunma, Japan (a fellow SSES education system) in October 2024, translating practices on student self-assessment and community empowerment directly into Kudus schools. #SSES #SocialEmotionalLearning #Education #OECD #Kudus #Indonesia #DjarumFoundation
