A new chapter begins at our Brindisi industrial site. The future Eni Storage Systems Gigafactory will contribute to the development of stationary batteries for renewable energy storage and grid stability, transforming part of the site into a hub for a strategic sector of the energy transition. An important step in the evolution of the site and in the creation of new opportunities for the local value chain.
A new step for energy storage in Italy and Europe. Eni Storage Systems – jointly owned by Eni Industrial Evolution and FIB, part of SERI Industrial Spa – has begun construction work at the Brindisi industrial site for a new integrated hub dedicated to the production of lithium-iron-phosphate batteries. The project will support the development of Battery Energy Storage Systems, solutions designed to store renewable energy when production exceeds demand and release it when needed, helping to strengthen grid stability and overcome the intermittency of renewables. With the future Gigafactory in Brindisi, we’re contributing to a more resilient energy system while creating industrial and technological value in a strategic sector for the energy transition. https://lnkd.in/eg9qAkms
