🚀 A week of collaboration, innovation and meaningful connections in Lisbon. Hosted by EDP, this year's Free Electrons Program Bootcamp brought together startups and leading utilities from around the world to explore real-world energy challenges, exchange ideas and uncover new opportunities for collaboration. From start-up pitches and one-to-one meetings to networking sessions and knowledge sharing, the week demonstrated the value of bringing together diverse perspectives to accelerate innovation across the energy sector. We were also pleased to welcome 30 startups to Lisbon, each contributing with solutions and insights that enriched the discussions throughout the programme. 🚀 Free Electrons in Lisbon comes to an end. As the Bootcamp reaches its conclusion, conversations between startups and utilities continued to deepen, building on the momentum created throughout the week. The focus remained on advancing concrete collaboration opportunities and shaping solutions to real-world energy challenges. This final stage also marked an important milestone, with 15 startups selected to move forward to the Master Module, reflecting the strength and relevance of the solutions developed during the Bootcamp. The Free Electrons Bootcamp continues to build momentum, as startups and utilities engaged in more focused, solution-driven discussions during the first round of 1-on-1 meetings at Palácio de Tancos. This third day reinforced the strong level of collaboration, with ideas progressing into concrete opportunities. Free Electrons Bootcamp in Lisbon ⚡ EDP is bringing together 30 startups and leading utilities to accelerate innovation in the energy sector. Day 1 marked the start of the Bootcamp, with participants from around the world connecting in Lisbon. Following the initial kick-off at EDP Headquarters, the welcome cocktail at Miradouro São Pedro de Alcântara set the stage for relationship-building and open exchange. On Day 2, the focus shifted to exploring concrete collaboration opportunities. After the welcome by António Coutinho, CEO of EDP Innovation, and the utility reverse pitches, startups presented solutions to real energy challenges. EDP’s business platforms Networks, RGA, Client Solutions and GEM shared their priorities, helping identify synergies. The day closed with a Speed Dating session, fostering direct conversations and potential partnerships. #EDPWeChooseEarth #InnovationatEDP

Testing is where innovation becomes reality. The Floating Solar PV Lab at Alto Rabagão is now open to companies and start-ups developing floating solar PV solutions that require validation under real operating conditions. The lab builds on EDP’s operational experience, the challenging environmental conditions of the reservoir and the technical expertise developed on site. It enables partners to test solutions in the platform, or to install independent pilot projects in a dedicated and authorised area. This flexibility supports robust performance assessment and technological validation prior to market deployment.
