The 2026 Intuit QuickBooks Accountant Technology Survey is now live, based on insights from accounting and bookkeeping professionals in the US. The headline? AI use is widespread, but depth is the new divide: 🔶 88% of accountants have used AI for client work, but only 30% say AI is embedded as the default in daily workflows 🔶 Firms are still losing hours fixing books, chasing inputs, and moving work across disconnected tools. But there’s a clear capacity signal: 86% expect AI to increase their ability to deliver advisory work over the next 12 months And as AI takes on more routine work, accountants say clients will keep valuing what humans bring to the work: judgment, accountability, and trust. The report also puts numbers behind what many firms are feeling every day: 🔶 Crowded tech stacks, but rising investment 🔶 Growing advisory demand, but operational friction standing in the way Explore the full findings here: https://intuit.me/4p34p5t

We hear it from our accountant customers every day, the accounting profession is entering a period of profound reinvention. As a trusted partner for more than 40 years, we are not only listening to their concerns, we’re acting on them. At Intuit Connect ON this week, I shared what that means for the platform our team has been building and why I'm more optimistic than ever about what's ahead. AI is changing how work gets done. Client expectations are rising. And yet, the accountants who combine trusted expertise with intelligent technology will create more value than ever before. That's what we're building toward. The Intuit platform brings together data, AI, automation, and human expertise so that businesses and accountants work from a shared system of intelligence. One that monitors performance, surfaces opportunities, automates the routine, and helps everyone move from insight to action. When businesses grow stronger, accountants can deliver more strategic guidance. When accountants have more leverage, businesses get better outcomes. The flywheel keeps spinning. Thank you to every accountant who shared feedback that shaped this roadmap. Keep it coming. We're listening, and it's making a real difference. https://lnkd.in/g6D4MzuJ

Accountants are not just users of the Intuit platform. They are our customers along with the millions of small and mid-sized businesses that we serve. This distinction of our accountant partners as customers shapes everything about how we build and what we prioritize. At Intuit Connect ON yesterday, we shared what that commitment looks like in practice: the August releases of QuickBooks and Intuit Accountant Suite that deliver on the feedback we have heard, the platform capabilities that let firms grow their most complex clients without ever losing them to a migration, and the investments we are making in both the fundamentals and innovation in AI that saves time and improves insights. None of the higher-order work is possible without getting the foundation right first. Before advisory. Before automation. Before any customer can act on insight, rather than chase data there has to be a close that is clean, categorization that is trustworthy, and reconciliation that does not consume the week. We have made significant investments in exactly these fundamentals — because everything else we are building depends on them being right. That is not a given in this market. It is a deliberate commitment. We showed how with Intuit Accountant Suite, accountants will be able to manage their teams, firms and clients in a single place. We outlined how we’re simplifying the exchange of data and information with their clients using Intuit QuickBooks through our connected platform to create a flywheel for growth.   Mid-market firms can now also build a fully-customized Intuit Enterprise Suite instance for a client — entities mapped, industry-specific dashboards loaded, actual data already inside — in under a week. No implementation partner. No code. And because the configuration is reusable, what you build for one client becomes the template for every similar client that follows. And with our single platform the move from QBO to Advanced or Intuit Enterprise Suite requires no migration, so you never lose a client to growth. You grow with them. Vertical editions for franchise, nonprofit, healthcare, and more are coming too. So, whatever industry your clients are in, the platform will speak their language. Whether you lead a firm serving small businesses or mid-market clients, you can  see what this looks like in practice. The full replay is worth an hour of your time. Today at Intuit Connect ON, we talked a lot about AI. But the biggest takeaway wasn't about AI. It was about accountants. We're entering a new era where businesses don't just need software. They need intelligence. Intelligence that helps them understand what's happening in their business, what's likely to happen next, and how to move forward with confidence. And at the center of that is a trusted advisor who can help them navigate complexity, make better decisions, and create new opportunities for growth. That's why, at Connect ON today, we unveiled a wave of new innovation across our unified platform where businesses and accountants operate in one connected system of intelligence, automating routine work, unlocking deeper insights, and helping accountants scale their expertise across more clients. And when businesses and accountants work from the same platform, something powerful happens. Businesses gain greater clarity and confidence. Accountants gain deeper visibility and more opportunities to deliver strategic value. As both sides generate richer data, insights, and engagement, the platform becomes smarter, more proactive, and more valuable for everyone connected to it. That's the flywheel. And it's why we're “all in” fueling success for accountants and the businesses they serve. The firms that thrive won't simply be the ones that use technology to work faster. They'll be the ones that use technology to strengthen relationships, expand their impact, and become even more indispensable to the businesses they serve. After spending time with so many accounting professionals this year, I've never been more optimistic about the future of this profession. The future isn't something that will happen to accountants. It will be built by them. And we're honored to be building it alongside them. If you missed Intuit Connect ON, you can watch the event on demand here: https://lnkd.in/gg7Qd9wt
