Formal verification is helping reshape how production cryptography is built. The SymCrypt and Azure Research teams are using Rust, Lean, Aeneas, and AI-assisted proof generation to formally verify cryptographic implementations while preserving the performance and architecture-specific optimizations needed for production software. The initial open-source release includes verified implementations of SHA-3 and ML-KEM and showcases a workflow designed to make formal verification part of everyday engineering.
