The Desert Fathers were early Christian monks and ascetics who lived in the Egyptian desert during the 3rd to 5th centuries. They sought spiritual growth through solitude, prayer, and ascetic practices, influencing Christian monasticism and spirituality.
This article examines three books to better understand Orthodoxy and above all its “heart”, the liturgy; each book  contextualizes it historically and theologically from different perspectives.
