Abordar la teoría estética requiere justificación ante una realidad que solo puede transformarse mediante la práctica política radical. Es inútil negar la desesperación inherente a este abordaje: un repliegue a una dimensión donde el orden existente se transforma y trasciende únicamente en la imaginación; permanece como ficción. La tesis de la estética marxista, según la cual la naturaleza ficticia del arte puede reducirse o abolirse al fundamentarla en la praxis y la cosmovisión revolucionarias, debe ser reexaminada. La conexión del arte con las relaciones de producción existentes, el carácter de clase del arte, amenaza con convertirse en una frase ritual en el campo cada vez más ex-tenso de la estética marxista: su reexaminación es necesaria.

However, the essay contends that this early experimental energy gradually calcified into a repetitive formal language.

The removal of Tilted Arc (1981) from Federal Plaza in New York became a defining moment in Serra’s career. Rather than serving as a catalyst for artistic reinvention, the controversy reinforced Serra’s reliance on the theoretical framework of site-specificity while encouraging a retreat into increasingly monumental steel sculptures. Works such as the Torqued Ellipses demonstrate a shift from conceptual experimentation toward spectacular scale.

Drawing comparisons with artists who embraced reinvention—such as Philip Guston’s move from abstraction to figurative painting and Bob Dylan’s transformation of musical identity—the essay argues that Serra’s refusal to evolve reflects a broader institutional tendency within the contemporary art world to valorize repetition as authenticity.

The continued celebration of Serra by museums, collectors, and mega-galleries reveals how institutional validation can perpetuate artistic inertia. By examining Serra’s trajectory alongside critiques by figures such as Benjamin H. D. Buchloh and Dave Hickey, the essay questions whether Serra’s monumental sculptures represent enduring innovation or the aesthetic fossilization of a once-radical artistic language.

In a September 10, 2024 interview on Artnet News's The Art Angle, Hal Foster revisited a the 1977 exhibition "Pictures" "were far more important" than the exhibition itself. This essay takes that claim seriously and traces its consequences. It argues that Foster's original wager-that discourse could assume the critical function once exercised through aesthetic judgment-proved decisive not only for the fate of the Pictures Generation, but for the structure of contemporary art culture itself. Following a line from Foster's 1983 position, through diagnoses of cultural stagnation by critics such as Jason Farago and Dean Kissick, and into Benjamin H. D. Buchloh's 2012 farewell to criticism, the essay contends that the Pictures Generation failed as art, Foster's theories failed as criticism, and their combined legacy produced an art world fluent in moral alibis-now routinely labeled "critique," "interest," or "lived experience"-but incapable of judgment. Foster's only retrospective regrets-concerning representation, queer theory, and postcolonial scopeare shown to align precisely with the moral-discursive regime that now governs contemporary art, while the more fundamental loss goes unexamined: criticism's capacity to terminate, refuse, or impose consequence. The result is what this essay names the Regime of Impunity-a cultural system in which critique circulates endlessly, nothing ends, and survival replaces judgment as the highest value. The crisis of contemporary art was not caused by markets overwhelming criticism, but by critics redefining their role so that markets no longer needed to overcome judgment at all.

This curatorial project appears as an expository paradigm, since, according to the curator of the exhibition, Jean-Hubert Martin, it was intended to be "the first truly international exhibition, bringing together artists from around the world." The curatorial proposal sought a horizontal dialogue between different contemporary forms of art, including artistic proposals from latitudes traditionally relegated from artistic circulation circuits, incorporating them into a Western narrative. In other words, the expository model proposed a framework of equality, where there were no sections with a specific ethnographic perspective or spatial hierarchies. All artists had the same visibility to show their proposals, regardless of their origin. With this action, Martin did not seek to include a non-Western other in the Western narrative of art, but rather to question the hegemonic practices that structured the narrative of art.

In the context of emerging digital aesthetics, the boundary between the beautiful and the ugly is undergoing profound reconfiguration: the traumatic and the pathological are increasingly invested with aesthetic value, becoming integral to new paradigms of visual appeal. This article examines the inversion of “beauty” in digital design through the theoretical frameworks of Hal Foster’s compulsive beauty ( 2022) —and Sianne Ngai’s stuplimity, developed in her  monograph Ugly Feelings (2005), as well as the Freudian notion of the uncanny ("unheimlich"), which enables an interpretation of digital metamorphoses as the traumatic return of the repressed familiar. The empirical foundation of the study consists of works by artists operating at the intersection of digital fashion and virtual beauty—Teresa Manzo, Sarah Mayer, Ines Alpha, Laura Buechner, among others—whose distorted avatars, hyper-augmented bodies, and dissonant visual forms actively challenge established canons of beauty. The article argues that, within digital environments, the aestheticization of ugliness and monstrosity operates not as a marginal deviation but as an affective mechanism that shapes novel regimes of perception and immersive engagement.

The article provides an in-depth analysis of the photograph “Concert for Berkut” by Markiyan and Oleg Macecha and Andriy Meakovsky, taken in 2013 in Kyiv during the Revolution of Dignity. The photograph is discussed from both a historical and a hermeneutical perspective. In the preliminary analysis, the work discusses the contrast between the two sides of the conflict: the protesters and the police, which was revised during the reading, allowing us to arrive at the truth of the composition, its phenomenon, and visual meaning, which are based on the interesting relation between the semantics of the photograph and its syntax. This proved decisive in determining the iconicity of the work, which is not understood here as an “icon” of the events in question, but as a unique combination of form and content, characteristic of a few works of high artistic value. Such works include “Concert for Berkut”, whose iconicity lies in the semantic productivity of the structural features of the work.

This article examines Peter Kampf lo sabía (1988), a comic by Carlos Trillo and Domingo Mandrafina, as a case study of the intersection between uchronia and the novelistic narrative matrix. Drawing on Javier Roberto González’s theory of heroism, it argues that the comic’s counterfactual premise—an Adolf Hitler who emigrates to the United States to become a comic artist—initially produces a radical novelization that renders heroism impossible within the diegesis. However, through a sustained metafictional use of uchronia, the text ultimately displaces heroic agency onto the reader. Engaging with Daniel Del Percio’s conception of uchronia as a speculative, critical reconfiguration of history, the article shows how the comic functions as a narrative of denunciation against totalitarianism, intolerance, and institutionalized prejudice. While its characters remain structurally antiheroic, the work’s final gesture transforms reading itself into a potential heroic act, inviting extratextual ethical and political action.

This essay seeks to establish a fundamental continuity between distinctive periods in Bill Viola’s work. Examining two relatively early works—The Reflecting Pool (1977-9) and The Passing (1991)—and the more recent piece Self-Portrait, Submerged (2013), I consider the artist’s physical presence as a catalyst for an inherent continuity between early formalism and the intense affectivity of the later period. Affect and its transindividual energies are present in Viola even before they come to acquire a more explicit articulation in the 2000s and beyond. We see in Viola’s work a merging of artist and artwork which drastically departs from traditional notions of authorial autonomy and mediation, giving rise instead to an event of transindividual affect. I consider the merging of artist and artwork here in light of Gilbert Simondon’s philosophy of individuation, a process-oriented ontology remarkably resonant with Viola’s art. I rely on Simondon’s concepts of the technical object, the preindividual and the transindividual, to examine: first, Viola’s immanent, transductive relation to his medium as illustrated in The Reflecting Pool; second, the way in which the artist’s participatory witnessing of technological ontogenesis transmutes into a directly affective experience in The Passing; and finally, the confluent affectivity of artist and spectator in Self-Portrait.

Pensare l'immagine come sintomo significa leggerla come traccia vivente, come l'emergere inatteso di ciò che insiste sotto la sua forma apparente. In questa prospettiva, la sintomatologia dell'immagine diventa una via privilegiata per cogliere la natura stratificata dei fenomeni visivi, là dove storia, psiche, memoria e cultura si intrecciano in configurazioni spesso opache e irregolari. Qui siamo lontani sia dal terreno della semiotica che da quello della storia dell'arte tradizionale. Se il simbolo appartiene all'ordine del significato, il sintomo si colloca piuttosto nell'ordine del trauma e del rimosso. Im Anschluss an jeden Künstler findet sich ein kurzer Überblick über Malutensilien, Motive und Vorbilder, die für den jeweiligen Fotorealisten wichtig waren bzw. sind. Umfangreiches Bildmaterial soll sicherstellen, dass dem Leser ein adäquates visuelles Vergleichspaket geboten wird. Leider standen mir einige Abbildungen der Gemälde nur in Schwarz-Weiß-Reproduktionen zur Verfügung. 12 Anschließend wird Gertschs Werk ausführlicher behandelt, wobei gleichzeitig eine Konfrontation mit den amerikanischen Kollegen hergestellt wird. Sukzessive soll sich herauskristallisieren, wo Unterschiede oder Berührungspunkte liegen. Die späten Holzschnitte von Gertsch werden ebenfalls vorgestellt, weil sich darin seine Grundhaltung, die bereits in den frühen Arbeiten zu finden ist, gut ablesen lässt und ohne diese die Weiterentwicklung seines Werkes unvollständig wäre. Ein Schlusswort wird die gewonnen Erkenntnisse zusammenfassen.

El vecino. Historias (2019) es una novela gráfica de Santiago García y Pepo Pérez. Forma parte de la serie El vecino (2004-hoy), desarrollada en formatos y tonos narrativos variables; su argumento parte del contraste entre dos mundos, el cotidiano (la vida corriente de unos vecinos) y el fantástico (uno de ellos es un superhéroe). El vecino. Historias recopila historias cortas cuyas estrategias artísticas son analizadas en este ensayo. Cada una plantea diferentes juegos formales y tonales, a menudo desde perspectivas metalingüísticas que cuestionan las convenciones y formatos del cómic. También se exploran los significados ideológicos implícitos en los códigos de superhéroes.

Este artículo, en el que se aborda el trabajo de algunos de los pioneros del cómic, tieneuna doble intención. En primer lugar, definir la representación secuencial delmovimiento como característica básica del cómic y que lo distingue de las narracionesgráficas que le precedieron. En segundo lugar, analizar los parecidos formales entre loscómics de principios de siglo y las primeras películas, con el fin proponer un modeloexplicativo diferente al de la influencia mutua; si ambos exhiben recursos narrativossimilares es más bien porque se derivan del mismo medio de representación delmovimiento: la cronofotografía.

Tomando a elaboração projetual da subjetividade enquanto prática de design, o presente estudo delineia um esboço genealógico das projetualidades que conformaram, ao longo do século XX, sujeitos projetivos. Após contextualizar o certame, assinalo duas projetualidades predominantes do século XX, a revolucionária e a integrada, e argumento que ambas fizeram do sujeito um locus de reintegração de técnicas e saberes por meio da prática projetual. Ao concluir que a integração total humano-máquina-ambiente permanece como norte das atuais práticas projetuais, este estudo contribui para a compreensão histórica do design enquanto meio de veiculação e materialização de discursos, valores e condutas.

Artykuł uzasadnia potrzebę zbadania cech charakterystycznych dla obrazowania fotogra-ficznego w projektowaniu obiektów przestrzennych. Dzięki zastosowaniu metody logicznej argumentacji, przytoczeniu badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych na trzech grupach odbior-ców oraz źródeł z dziedziny sztuki autor wykazuje zasadność rozważenia włączenia do projek-towania obiektów przestrzennych cech plastycznych charakterystycznych dla medium foto-grafii. Autor swoje uzasadnienie opiera na niespotykanej powszechności obrazowania tego typu i silnym wpływie na sposób odbioru świata, życie codzienne oraz na konsekwencje społeczne. Wskazuje, że użycie cech plastycznych fotografii w obiekcie, takich jak głębia ostrości, przenikalność obrazu, użycie paralaksy, płynność czasu rejestracji czy ziarnistość obrazu, może stanowić rodzaj kodu wizualnego, zbliżając formę przestrzenną do rodzaju komunikatu, a także wpływając na możliwą zmianę postrzegania obiektów przez odbiorców, które mogłoby mieć podstawy w zaufaniu odbiorców do obrazu fotograficznego. W dalszej części artykułu autor przytacza przykłady foto-obiektów z domeny sztuki i wskazuje, w jaki sposób wykorzystują one cechy plastyczne obrazu fotograficznego. Autor pokrótce omawia też strategie twórcze, w których najłatwiej spotkać tego typu działania.

Article justifies the need for understanding and describes the possibilities of using char-acteristic features of photographic imaging in spatial objects. Through logical argumenta-tion, citation of survey research conducted on three groups of recipients, and references from the field of art, the article’s author demonstrates the validity of considering the incor-poration of plastic features characteristic of photography into the design of spatial objects. The author bases his justification on the unprecedented ubiquity of this type of imaging and its strong influence on the perception of the world, daily life, and social consequences. It is indicated that the use of photographic plastic features in an object, such as depth of field, image permeability, the use of parallax, the fluidity of registration time, or image granulari-ty, can constitute a kind of visual code, bringing spatial form closer to a type of message, as well as a possible change in the perception of objects by recipients, which could be based on the trust of recipients in the photographic image. In the later part of the article, the au-thor provides examples of photo-objects from the domain of art and indicates how they utilize the plastic features of photographic images. The author also briefly discusses crea-tive strategies in which such actions are most easily encountered.

A partir do filme Elefante (2003, Gus Van Sant), o trabalho interroga a emergência do trauma no cinema queer contemporâneo, tratado com estética realista fantasmagórica. Incluído na Quadrilogia da morte, ao lado de Gerry (2002), Last Days (2005) e Paranoid Park (2007), o filme é parte de uma virada formal na carreira de Gus Van Sant, com influência assumida de Sátántangó (1994, Béla Tarr), a reverberar e marcar uma tendência estética relevante do cinema contemporâneo.

Resumen. Este artículo analiza la postura filosófica del llamado nuevo realismo, especialmente, partiendo de las propuestas del filósofo Markus Gabriel, en referencia al impacto de sus ideas en la construcción del marco conceptual y de pensamiento de la educación artística y sus prácticas. Se sintetiza una explicación sobre la corriente del nuevo realismo, como alternativa al materialismo, al idealismo y al constructivismo posmoderno. Hace un breve recorrido crítico por algunas de sus propuestas, centrándose, de manera exclusiva, en aquellos aspectos que tienen un impacto significativo en el desarrollo conceptual contemporáneo de la educación artística. Se pretende establecer unas bases de pensamiento que permitan ir tejiendo un nuevo desarrollo y definición de la educación artística, convencidos de la necesidad de teorizar para consolidar y fortalecer la disciplina y sus prácticas e investigaciones. Finalmente, establece la necesidad de consolidar una educación artística centrada en su propia realidad objetiva y en el reconocimiento de la realidad del arte como campo de sentido autónomo sobre el que debe girar de forma exclusiva la función de la disciplina. W części pierwszej, najciekawszej, Michał Stefański przypomina, że związki te były tradycyjnie pomijane w badaniach, z jednej strony z przyczyn ideologicznych, z drugiej zaś-z powodu zbytniego zaufania literaturoznawców do explicite formułowanych deklaracji programowych, które, zwłaszcza w przypadku wypowiedzi autorów z kręgu Devětsilu, dość stanowczo odżegnywały się od wszelkich koligacji z prądem Marinettiego. Tymczasem, jak autor pokazuje, przywołując ustalenia Ilony Gwóźdź-Szewczenko (i chyba niepotrzebnie wdając się z jej książką w rozbudowaną polemikę bliższą raczej konwencjom krytyki naukowej niż rozprawy monograficznej), koligacje te, zwłaszcza w początkowym okresie funkcjonowania ruchu awangardowego w Czechach rysowały się jasno i do pewnego stopnia determinowały jego założenia artystyczne i filozoficzne. Dotyczy to przede wszystkim formacji skupionej wokół Almanachu na rok 1914, opublikowanego z inicjatywy S. K. Neumanna. Stefański przywołuje, wykorzystując bogaty materiał dokumentacyjny, program tego nieformalnego ugrupowania, wypowiedzi jego członków (m.in. braci Čapków) na temat przemian w estetyce, eksponuje powiązanie tych przemian z "nowym pięknem" odnajdywanym w kształtach maszyn oraz przypomina poetyckie reprezentacje ilustrujące literacką obecność tematyki technologicznej. Este artigo relaciona valores do design acumulados historicamente ao derivarem o solo contemporâneo, no que nomeia-se aqui um discurso projetual. Localiza-se, sob um olhar foucaultiano, noções que permitem o projeto ser associado à função de progresso históricosocial e mediado por uma postura totalista (arte total). Tal discurso projetual, quando atravessado pela dinâmica neoliberal, abre novos dilemas e transformações valorativas por meio do design, propostas a nível de efeitos no campo da arte contemporânea (sob a alcunha do design total) e da racionalidade dos indivíduos (design de si). Considera-se, ao fim, uma transformação valorativa que, remontando genealogicamente distintas raízes, hodiernamente delineia, para além da cartografia disciplinar, um dilema projetivo em dispersão. This article relates accumulated historical design values when deriving the contemporary soil, in what is named here as a projectual discourse. It is located, under a Foucauldian perspective, notions that allows the association of the project with the historical-social function of progress, mediated by a totalist posture (total art). Such projectual discourse, when crossed by neoliberal dynamics, opens new dilemmas and some value transformations through design. Here, it is proposed discursive effects in the field of contemporary art (under the title of total design) and in the rationality of individuals (design of the self). In the end, it is considered an evaluative transformation that, reassembling to different genealogical roots, today delineates, beyond the disciplinary cartography, a projective dilemma in dispersion.

El presente Trabajo Fin de Máster, de carácter teórico-práctico, tiene por objeto la elaboración de un análisis en torno a las estrategias narrativas del cómic contemporáneo, centrándose en el estudio de los contenedores de historias como fenómeno de vanguardia. Se ha estudiado, a partir de la obra de diferentes artistas, cómo estas novedades gráficas pueden condicionar la estructura de la narración y alterar el vector de lectura tradicional. Este análisis ha permitido conocer cómo, a través de recursos como el dibujo trayecto o la narración multilineal, los autores han dado solución a las dificultades que se plantean con los contenedores de historias. Los resultados obtenidos en esta primera parte del trabajo han permitido la elaboración de nuestro propio contenedor de historias. Se ha realizado un dibujo a tamaño natural de María Antonieta decapitada, utilizando su vestido y la sangre de su cuello como contenedor para dibujar el desarrollo de la Revolución Francesa. Para finalizar, se ha elaborado un pequeño manual de instrucciones con las indicaciones necesarias para la lectura del dibujo e información complementaria sobre la Revolución.

Celem artykułu jest multimodalna analiza sposobu, w jaki konstruowane jest znaczenie na znakach drogowych. Chociaż ich przekaz pozornie wydaje się skonstruowany wyłącznie monomodalnie (kod obrazowy, wykorzystujący schematyczne przedstawienia ludzi, zwierząt i obiektów
nieożywionych lub ich części jako reprezentacji elementów realnego świata), w rzeczywistości jest on bardziej złożony i wieloetapowy. Relacja między przedstawieniami obrazowymi a ich znaczeniem nie ogranicza się do bezpośredniej i dosłownej reprezentacji, a właściwa interpretacja
samych obrazów jest możliwa tylko z uwzględnieniem pozaobrazowych elementów znaków, takich jak ich kształt, kolor, a w części przypadków – także mentalne zrekonstruowanie implikowanego ruchu, wyobrażonego na statycznym obrazie. Wyniki badania, wykorzystującego teorię metafor pojęciowych i analizę multimodalną, pokazują, że w procesie odczytywania znaczeń ze znaków drogowych używane są te same mechanizmy poznawcze, które można zaobserwować w przypadku konceptualizowania wszelkich pojęć przy pomocy wcześniejszego doświadczenia – metonimia i metafora pojęciowa. Do stworzenia znaczenia odbiorca nie wykorzystuje jedynie statycznych obrazów, przedstawionych w kilku konwencjonalnie ustalonych kolorach na metalowych tarczach, ale całokształt relacji między nimi a zewnętrzną formą znaków i ich otoczeniem. Uzupełnia je także o wcześniejsze fizyczne doświadczenia i wiedzę o świecie. Analiza zawarta w tym artykule stara się prześledzić ten proces i zidentyfikować jego etapy.

This paper provides an overview of the work of Diller, Scofidio + Renfro, often abbreviated as ds+r. It aims to explore the intricate relationship between ‘the politics of seeing’ and ‘the democratization of space’, which are two fundamental concepts embodying the firm's design philosophy. The politics of seeing reflects its focus on activating architecture by assembling various elements such as materials, ideas, images, and experiential dimensions. This approach challenges existing criteria and promotes institutional critique. On the other hand, the democratization of space, as articulated by Elizabeth Diller, addresses the architect's role in the neoliberal context. The firm's projects, characterized by their public engagement, including parks, lobbies, and squares, demonstrate their ongoing commitments to making architecture accessible to the public. While these two agendas may seem interconnected, this paper argues that this is not always the case. Some recent projects, such as The MoMA Renovation and The Shed, aim to achieve both dimensions but tend to lean towards conservatism or practicality. As a result, the criticality that was prevalent in their earlier works before 2000 is sometimes compromised in
ways that are not fully able to release their intricate capacities of mediating the neoliberal world.

Here we describe a postcranial skeleton of Bagaceratops (Ceratopsia) which was found in the Baruungoyot Formation (Upper Cretaceous) in Hermiin Tsav of southwestern Gobi Desert, Mongolia in 2007. It is important in terms of the first report on the postcranial skeleton of Bagaceratops. Although the cranial differences stand out between Bagaceratops and its sister taxon Protoceratops, two genera are very similar to each other in the postcranial skeleton except for the shape and position of clavicles. Their similarity appears in the number and shape of a sacrum, tall neural spines of caudals, the presence of clavicles, a flat scapular blade almost perpendicular to glenoid, coracoids with a smooth and arcuate anterior portion, a small olecranon process, manus much smaller than pes, a large and pendant femoral fourth trochanter, and the tibia longer than the femur. While short and rod-like clavicles of Protoceratops are articulated with both scapula and coracoid, however, they are curved distally in front of the coracoid in Bagaceratops. Bagaceratops with a laterally flat and high tail like Protoceratops mainly lived in interdune ponds and other freshwater wetlands, and the high neural spines of the caudal vertebrate of protoceratopsids may be an adaptative feature for living in aquatic environments.

300 dakikalık bir video çalışması olan Şem’e Düşen Pervane, kente karşı yanan bir figürü içeriyor. Bu figür yanıyor, ancak bu yanma hali bir türlü bitip tükenmiyor;  1993 yılında Sivas’ta yaşanan katliamın izlerinin halâ hissedebilenler için hiçbir şekilde bitip tükenmeyeceği gibi.  Şem’e Düşen Pervane ve yanına eklemlenebilecek çok sayıda eser, belki söylenegeldiği gibi bizleri bir mucizeye inandırmaya çalışmıyor, ancak içlemlerinde, gördüklerimizden çok daha fazlasını barındırıyorlar. Bu nedenle Gökhan Eken’in bu çalışmasını yalnızca yanan bir figür olarak nitelendirmek çok mümkün görünmüyor.

W każdej dziedzinie życia może zachodzić proces komponowania, choć z pojęciem kompozycji łączymy przede wszystkim aktywność artystyczną. Komponowanie to działanie, którego celem jest zbudowanie układu o określonym charakterze. W plastyce jest to układ wizualny, a jego cechą jest dążenie do równowagi. Składa się na nią szereg elementów optycznych, między którymi zachodzą skomplikowane zależności. Komponujący dany układ powinien liczyć się tak z potrzebami idei i formy, jak i z tym, że odbiór (w przypadku tego artykułu-obrazu) zależy od wielu czynników związanych ze znaczeniem i wzajemnym oddziaływaniem poszczególnych elementów dzieła. Tematyce analizy obrazów i percepcji wizualnej poświęconych jest wiele różnorodnych badań, z których wypływa wiedza o warunkach postrzegania, mogąca pomóc komponować bardziej świadomie. Metody praktyczne komponowania nie wywodzą się jednak tylko z teorii, kształtują się także wraz z rosnącym doświadczeniem warsztatowym. W tym artykule została podjęta problematyka kompozycji, wskazano jej podstawy, przypomniano opracowania, które-choć czasem już leciwe, wciąż są aktualne. Przybliżano, w zarysie, historię teorii kompozycji. Wymieniono niektóre z elementów łączących prawa widzenia z prawami komponowania. Wskazano także na wybrane wątki wiążące problematykę kompozycji z rozwojem kultury (m.in. z upodobaniem danych epok do określonych schematów, różnicami w podejściu do przekazu artystycznego w zależności od rejonów geograficznych).

Sus transformaciones han sido determinadas por varias fuerzas contrapuestas, cuya identificación y análisis resultan imprescindibles para aclarar el papel que el arte y el pensamiento estéticos desempeñan en el actual momento histórico.

RESUMO: A partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica centrada nos principais autores que se ocuparam com o tema da arte pública e as diversas mudanças que a atingiram, o presente artigo visa refletir sobre a arte pública e a atual estética e arte relacional. Para compreendê-la em seu contexto reporto-me primeiramente ao desenvolvimento da escultura no campo expandido até chegar a atual estética relacional teorizada pelo crítico e curador Nicolas Bourriaud. Ao final apresento o artista Rirkrit Tiravanija pela importância de seu trabalho que é sempre recordado e discutido ao se pensar a arte relacional.

This study explores the complex relationship between the meaning of sculpture and its
making process in the context of the philosophy of language. Sculpture is a unique art form
that involves the creation of three-dimensional objects that occupy physical space. However,
the meaning of a sculpture is not limited to its spatial characteristics alone. This study
identifies two distinct levels of meaning in sculpture: its relation to space and its making
process. While the former has received considerable attention in the literature, the latter has
been largely overlooked. Therefore, this study focuses on the semantic relationship between
Richard Serra's sculptures and his sculpture-making processes, particularly in his early works.
Richard Serra is widely regarded as one of the most important artists of the Process Art
movement, which emerged in the 1960s and emphasizes the importance of the making
process in art. The study questions the reduction of the meaning of sculpture to a mere action
and seeks to establish a deeper relationship between the philosophy of language and the
process of sculpture. To achieve this, the study draws on the works of Ludwig Wittgenstein,
J. L. Austin, and John R. Searle, who are some of the most important philosophers of
language of the 20th century. Wittgenstein's concept of language games and his emphasis on
the social context of language use is particularly relevant to this study. The study explores
how Serra's sculpture-making processes can be seen as a form of language game, with its
own rules and conventions. Similarly, Austin's concept of performative language provides a
framework for understanding how the making process of a sculpture can be seen as a form of
performative action. The study also draws on Searle's theory of speech acts, which suggests
that language use is not just a matter of describing the world, but also of performing actions
and creating new realities. Overall, this study represents an important contribution to the field
of art and philosophy. By exploring the relationship between the meaning of sculpture and its
making process, the study challenges traditional notions of art and raises important questions
about the nature of meaning and representation in art. The study also demonstrates the

El distanciamiento del cómic con las altas esferas del arte y la academia tiene una de sus muchas raíces en el falso conflicto impuesto entre la imagen y la palabra, perpetuado a través de buena parte de la historia humana. Afortunadamente hace algunas décadas se ha venido reconociendo las virtudes de los medios híbridos como el cómic para expresar distintas realidades humanas que se escapan a las aproximaciones lineales, unilaterales y monosensoriales de medios más tradicionales. Dating to the 1530s, the Latin poem Sarca was published in 1842 in Rome by Angelo Mai based on a manuscript found in Vienna. Forty years after publication, the incompatibility of this edition with the Viennese manuscript was first noticed. In the second half of the last century, a polemic began challenging the theory, previously considered certain, that Sarca’s author was Pietro Bembo. Researchers named Girolamo Fracastor, Andrea Navager and Agostino Beazzan, among others, as possible authors of the text in addition to Bembo. The question of the poem’s authorship remains unresolved to this day. The aim of this article is to analyse the turbulent and hypothesis-rich debate on the attribution of the Renaissance work. Bir yazıya başlarken konulara dair soruları sıralayıp ardından onun yanıtlarını verememe hayli sorunlu gibi görünüyor. Fakat yaşadığımız coğrafya kanayan yaraysa problemleri konuşup görünür kılma adına bazı şeyleri yazabilmenin değerli olduğunu düşünüyorum. Günümüzde sanat eleştirisi dünyanın gidişatıyla ilişkili olarak adalet, eşitlik, demokrasi gibi önemli sorunlara dair bizlere bir şeyler söyleyebilir mi? Çok fazla söz, ses, görüntü kirliliğinin var olduğu bir çağda yaşıyoruz. İşte bu yüzden sanat eleştirisinin de konumu sallantılı. Hal Foster'ın Ferit Burak Aydar çevirisiyle Koç Üniversitesi Yayınlarından çıkan 'Yeni Kötü Günler' kitabının 'Post-eleştirel' bölümü tümüyle sanat eleştirisinin geldiği etkisiz, amacından sapmış ve kuru gürültüye karışmış pozisyonunu özetliyor. Eleştiri Foster'a göre gücünü yitirdiği için 'post-eleştirel' bir hale gelir. Generalmente construidos por hombres medios para hombres medios (mecanismo básico de la cultura de masas) "democratizan" ideologías y de ese modo establecen el interpretante final para un espacio de conocimiento concreto. En el caso presente se llama la atención acerca del nivel medio establecido para la comprensión del Diseño en los medios de comunicación de masas. Curating is a delicate job; it is the mediation between artworks or other objects, and a public that tends to navigate on routine expectations. Rather than providing surveys, for information, the key moment when artworks 'work' is when they are juxtaposed, combined, with one another. As also argued by Nina Simon and Claire Bishop (Bishop, 2014; Simon, 2016), and in my 1996 book Double Exposures on this subject (Bal, 1996), meanings and effects, affects and appreciation are not inherent in artworks but are events that occur, in the present, when visitors engage with the art on display. Shaking visitors up, shocking them into an active engagement with artworks, is in my view the most important aspect of curating. Shocking them out of the 'consumerist' attitude currently promoted by managerial anxieties over subsidies is the curators' task. I am aware of the need of museums to attract new audiences, especially younger ones. To preempt this, the most frequently advanced argument: in the case presented below, shaking up and even shocking did not diminish but increase the visitors' numbers. In this contribution I aim to make the case for countering conservative tendencies while shedding consumerism, both. And since art can also be seen as something that 'shocks people into thought' (Massumi, 2002), the distinction between making art and making an exhibition with it, in other words, between the work of artists and the work of curators, is relative. An effective exhibition produces the shock of unexpected visions that renews complacency in the face of repeated traditional ways of working. As does high-quality art. Museums are almost by definition conservative, literally, in charge of conservation. That is their primary task, without which art would disappear and the past dissolve into dust. And what is more traditional than a one-artist museum, founded as the legacy of a great national artist? So, as a practice-based case-study, I will analyse precisely such a museum experience in the face of its inherently conservative task. The description of the experiment below is addressed to
