We're proud to have supported Project One Group on their recent furniture strip out project, spanning over a 3 day timeline with a fantastic sustainable outcome. ✅ 12.94 tonnes diverted from landfill. ✅ 94% resource recovery rate. ✅ 7,668.44 kg CO2e offset. ✅ 276 items removed. Here's how it broke down: 🟢 67% Rehoming — including 44 boardroom chairs, 28 task chairs and 22 workstations finding new homes. 🟢 27% Recycled — 3,780 kg of material recovered 🟢 6% Disposed — kept to an absolute minimum. On every project we strive to support community through reuse, more than 30 items, including sofas, armchairs and coffee tables, were donated to ReLove to help them on their mission. This is what a properly managed strip-out looks like: less landfill, lower emissions, and furniture finding a second life instead of a skip bin. We're so much more than demo! At Green Furniture Hub, our process looks a little different to traditional demo. It’s precise, it’s sweatier, and we're a lot more obsessed with the details. Here is what happens when you choose the circular route: 🟢 We prioritise maximising life of furniture. Rehoming, means dismantling and transporting with care. Cleaning to extend the life of chairs that are destined for landfill and reuse of materials through strategic partnerships. 🟢 We sell items for as low as $30 on our online marketplace and facilitate charity donations to support community and charities. 🟢 If an item isn't rehomable, we don’t just dump it. We separate the materials and coordinate with 3–5 different recycling partners to ensure they’re upcycled into new products. It’s tempting to wonder why the sustainable option isn't the cheapest, but there is so much more involvement in our process. When you invest in a more intentional process, you are: ✅ Saving thousands of tonnes of carbon. ✅ Keeping perfectly good materials out of landfill. ✅ Supporting local communities with affordable, high-quality furniture.
