📣We are pleased to announce a cooperation with Honeywell Aerospace and Jagiellonian University to develop, test, and deliver a compact quantum space magnetometer to the European Space Agency by 2027. 💎The system will combine Honeywell Aerospace’s space engineering expertise, Jagiellonian University’s advanced physics research capabilities, and QB’s diamond NV sensing technology to enable high performance, full vector magnetic field measurements from orbit. Designed to meet strict satellite requirements for size, weight, and power, the sensor will support more detailed geomagnetic mapping, Earth science, geophysics, and space domain awareness. This project creates a pathway toward scalable manufacturing of compact quantum sensors for future satellite missions and constellations. 🎤 Last week at the Nikkei Asia Forum Perth – Navigating Unpresented Challenges: Japan-Australia Partnership for Economic Security & Strategic Investment, our Japan Country Director Hideaki Yoshimura joined a panel to discuss “Building the Next-Generation Security Economy: AI, Cyber and Quantum”. Following a keynote from Michelle Simmons (Silicon Quantum Computing), the discussion included David McKeering (NTT Data) and Jason Crusan (AROSE), moderated by Nikkei Asia’s Sophie Mak. 💎 Hideaki highlighted the opportunity for Australia and Japan to combine strengths to mass manufacture diamond-based #quantum technologies that can operate entirely at room temperature, are robust and miniaturizable and can be deployed anywhere. From GPS denied navigation systems, through to massively parallelized quantum computing and Edge AI, Australian inventions and IP, combined with Japan’s expertise in synthetic diamond production and #semiconductor manufacturing are perfectly suited to deliver to a diverse range of customers in defense, mining, automotive, robotics, telecommunications and medical sectors for national security and resiliency. Excited to see the Open Compute Project Foundation publish this new white paper on integrating quantum processing units into data center infrastructure. Our colleague Florian Preis contributed to the paper, and we appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with the broader OCP community, especially with Boniface Yogendran, CD, PEng, whose insights and engagement were invaluable throughout the process. 💎 The paper highlights a key shift: quantum computing must be deployed as a distributed, tightly integrated accelerator within modern HPC environments to deliver real commercial value. 🎤 On April 30, our colleague Florian Preis will speak at the Open Compute Project Foundation EMEA Summit in Barcelona on how room temperature QPUs can become scalable accelerators inside HPC and data center infrastructure. 💎Florian will discuss how room-temperature QPUs can be deployed as parallel accelerators in HPC settings, with quantum tasks distributed across many QPUs and orchestrated alongside classical compute resources. He will also outline practical integration models for NV-based QPUs in modern data centers today, and a path toward elastic accelerator fabrics that combine CPUs, GPUs, and many QPUs.
