Buy a skin in a traditional video game and you own nothing. You've licensed an item the studio can revoke. Blockchain changes that structure. In-game assets, tokens, collectibles, virtual land, avatars, can exist as digital property the player actually controls, tradeable beyond the game itself. Students at the UZH Blockchain Center's Deep Dive into Blockchain Summer School built their group project on Cardano, and it took first prize. Their project, Pacy, turns a prescription into a token. A doctor issues it, a pharmacy redeems it, and a smart contract verifies both are licensed. Patients scan a QR code to collect their medicine. Refills are capped by the contract, so a prescription can't be reused or forged, and it expires on its own. Paper can be copied, altered, and filled twice. This approach closes that gap at the point the prescription is created. This year, for the first time, every DDiB student worked through a Cardano Academy course sequence built for the program, preparing them for the Cardano Blockchain Certified Associate certification.
