Interoperability is the Foundation of Open Industrial Localization Open standards only create value when they work seamlessly across vendors in real-world environments. That’s exactly what the omlox Plugfest 2026 demonstrated: 21 experts from nine companies validated the interoperability of omlox components in realistic industrial scenarios. Across 48 interoperability tests, an overall success rate of 86% was achieved, while all positioning accuracy tests passed successfully. For industrial users, these results mean more than just technical validation: ✅ Greater flexibility when selecting and expanding locating solutions ✅ Proven interoperability across manufacturers ✅ Reduced vendor lock-in ✅ A reliable foundation for scalable industrial localization The Plugfest, which took place at the Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, was followed by the omlox Conference Day, where live demonstrations and presentations from NXP Semiconductors and Hewlett Packard Enterprise highlighted how open standards and location data are enabling the next generation of industrial automation - and providing the spatial foundation for Physical AI. #omlox #Interoperability #OpenStandards #PI

🎯 omlox Conference Day 2026 – a great conclusion to three days of collaboration and testing! Yesterday we wrapped up the omlox Plugfest & Conference 2026 at SmartFactoryOWL, Lemgo – and the results speak for themselves. 📊 Plugfest Results: Over the course of two days, 21 omlox experts from 9 manufacturers tested 12 different omlox components – both hardware and software – under realistic conditions. The outcome: ✅ Proven interoperability ✅ Plug & Play ready ✅ Highly accurate Systems from different vendors working together seamlessly – that's the value of open standardization. 🎤 Keynote Insights: 🔹 Jens Fluegel (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) showed how the integration of UWB modules into Wi-Fi access points can enable a unified infrastructure for both Wi-Fi and omlox-based localization – reducing complexity and deployment effort. 🔹 Olivier Thivolet (NXP Semiconductors) gave a comprehensive overview of the omlox standard and its technological foundations – including how the upcoming IEEE 802.15.4ab UWB communication standard will make omlox more powerful and scalable going forward. 🏭 SmartFactoryOWL Lab Tour: Participants got a first-hand look at Industrie 4.0 applications currently in development and ready for transfer into companies. omlox provides the foundation for delivering precise location information across these use cases. 🚀 Day 1 of the omlox Plugfest 2026 is underway! Today marks the kick-off of the omlox Plugfest at SmartFactoryOWL, Lemgo, Germany. Systems are set up, powered on, and the first interoperability tests are already running! We're testing the omlox Core Zone with: 🛰️ Stand-alone satellites 📡 Satellites integrated into WiFi access points 🏷️ Tags from multiple manufacturers 🔗 Several omlox Hubs from different vendors It's exciting to see how components from various manufacturers come together and interact under real-world conditions – this is what open standards are all about. A huge thank you to all participating companies for their fantastic collaboration and commitment to making omlox interoperability a reality. Your engagement is what drives this standard forward!
