𝗠𝗲𝗱𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟳𝘁𝗵 Yesterday's MedtechMeeting was hosted by Luris and the Medtech department of Leiden University Medical Center. Many thanks to Marjolein Kroonen and Bob Hamans for hosting the event! We had 4 promising innovations on stage: 👉 Streasure4Health | Peter Deen showed how chronic fatigue can be measured objectively using a simple biomarker test, replacing a burdensome and expensive 2‑day exercise test with a safe, affordable alternative that supports better diagnosis and personalized treatment. 👉 Dalco Robotics | Mark Bruijnen demonstrated how autonomous logistics robots can reduce workload for nursing staff by delivering materials on demand at the bedside, helping healthcare professionals spend more time on patient care instead of logistics. 👉 Bobby Neonatal | Andrew Fishbourne presented an automated, gentle stimulation solution that safely intervenes during apnea episodes in premature newborns, reducing alarm fatigue and nurse workload while supporting vulnerable infants. 👉 Juvant medical | Theo Ruers explained how real‑time optical margin assessment during oncologic surgery can help surgeons immediately identify tumor‑positive margins, reducing reoperations and patient burden. 🚀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 Bobby Neonatal! Great progress from imec.istart.nl startup Bobby Neonatal, which is developing an innovative solution to support breathing in preterm infants. In recent months, the team has reached several important milestones: ✅ Secured a €155K non-dilutive NWO Take-off 2 grant to initiate product development ✅ Selected among the final 50 of the Health-Holland funding scheme, with a potential €405K grant pending external review ✅ Granted a European Union patent, in addition to their existing Dutch patent These achievements mark strong validation of both the technology and the team, and underline the growing momentum behind their mission to tackle apnea in preterm infants.
