𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 🪴 Recently, six of our colleagues completed the 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 alongside colleagues from Marriott hotels in Amsterdam and The Hague. Besides developing their leadership skills, the program gave them the opportunity to expand their hospitality network. Throughout the training, they explored topics including prioritisation, effective delegation, providing feedback and motivating others. Valuable skills that strengthen not only individual leadership but also the collaboration within our teams. 🤝 A special thank you to Simone Louwers and Floortje Claessens-van Helden for guiding the training and inspiring the next generation of leaders. In the Pillars Bar you’ll be taken on a journey through the world’s different vineyards, offering a wide selection of 25 high quality wines by the glass, including exclusive wine-flights and signature cocktails. Traveling to Rotterdam couldn’t be easier. From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport it only takes you 25 minutes to travel into Rotterdam by high speed train and in 26 minutes you’ll be standing in our hotel lobby. Rotterdam-The Hague Airport is located at 10 minutes driving distance from the hotel. International trains such as the Thalys (2,5 hrs, from Paris), Deutsche Bahn and Eurostar all arrive at Rotterdam Central Station.

In 2025 hebben de bedrijven in het netwerk gezamenlijk meer dan 13.500 vluchtelingen aan werk geholpen. Dat cijfer vertelt een groter verhaal: duizenden mensen die bouwen aan een nieuwe toekomst én werkgevers die hun organisatie versterken met gemotiveerd talent. Deze 51 toonaangevende werkgevers binnen de Tent Nederland coalitie laten zien dat het aannemen van vluchtelingen verder gaat dan maatschappelijke betrokkenheid, het biedt ook een concrete oplossing voor de personeelstekorten waar veel sectoren mee kampen. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬 ✨ A big thank you to everyone who joined us during our 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 last Tuesday at the Rotterdam Marriott Hotel. It was great to welcome back so many familiar faces, many of whom brought along colleagues who had never visited our hotel before. We also had the pleasure of meeting several new partners and showing them around our property for the very first time. From our meeting and event facilities to a behind-the-scenes look at the areas that keep our hotel running every day, we loved sharing what we have to offer. From Berlin to Lisbon ✈️🇵🇹 There wasn't much time to recover from Commercial Connections in Berlin. The very next day, I was already on my way to Lisbon for The Meetings Space. Together with Jesper van Heijningen, representing The Hague Marriott Hotel, I had the pleasure of representing The Rotterdam Marriott Hotel. It was my first buyer-to-supplier event with pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings, and it certainly won't be my last. Meeting so many buyers, introducing our hotels, and building new relationships made it a truly valuable experience. What stood out to me most was how quickly conversations became genuine. You may start by talking about business, but before long you're exchanging experiences, learning about each other's backgrounds, and exploring opportunities to work together. Of course, there was also time to experience Lisbon beyond the meeting rooms. A catamaran cruise and a speedboat tour provided the perfect setting to continue those conversations in a more informal way while enjoying this beautiful city. Events like these are a great reminder that hospitality is all about people. In just a few days, you create meaningful connections that can grow into exciting future collaborations. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧 🤝🇩🇪 Last week I had the opportunity to attend Commercial Connections in Berlin together with our General Manager, Claudia Van Der Graaf , representing The Rotterdam Marriott Hotel. It was a few inspiring days filled with great conversations, valuable meetings, and the chance to reconnect with familiar faces while also meeting many new ones. From leadership and customer sessions to meetings with Marriott Global Sales Offices, customers, and industry partners, every conversation brought new insights and opportunities. Of course, it wasn’t all business… Apparently, spending a 40°C afternoon melting together on a Hop-On Hop-Off bus is also a great way to strengthen the working relationship. Safe to say we survived the Berlin heat together! ☀️😂 Events like these are a great reminder of how important personal connections are in our industry. Building relationships, sharing ideas, and exploring new opportunities is what makes this work so enjoyable. A big thank you to everyone I had the pleasure of meeting in Berlin. A first job can be the first step towards a long-term career Recently, #TentNederland and Werkse! partnered with Rotterdam Marriott Hotel to host an in-house hiring event for asylum seekers from Delft. 11 highly motivated job seekers met Marriott recruiters and hiring managers to explore employment opportunities. Many brought valuable professional experience from their home countries and were eager to contribute to the Dutch society. One message we shared with the candidates was the ABC approach: A Job → Better Job → Career For many refugees, the first job in a new country may not match their previous experience or qualifications. But that first opportunity provides something just as valuable: Dutch work experience, greater confidence, improved language skills and a better understanding of the local workplace. These first steps create a foundation for future career growth. We're delighted to share some early results: 5 candidates have already received job offers. A huge thank you to Rotterdam Marriott Hotel for creating such a welcoming environment and demonstrating a strong commitment to refugee hiring! And thank you to Werkse! for preparing the candidates so well for the event! This is what an effective collaboration looks like: employer(s), a municipality and Tent Partnership for Refugees working together to create meaningful employment opportunities for refugees.
