  • With 12 MW of power and 12 MWh of storage capacity, EDP’s latest project with Bondalti is now operational: the largest battery energy storage system installed at an industrial site in Portugal. The system will help Bondalti respond more efficiently to changing energy needs, maximise the use of locally generated renewable energy and strengthen the flexibility and resilience of its operations. By combining renewable generation, battery storage, electrical infrastructure and smart energy management, the project shows how integrated energy solutions can support the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries. As electrification accelerates, this ability to manage energy more intelligently will be key to building a cleaner, more resilient and competitive industry. Watch the video to discover how this partnership is supporting Bondalti’s energy transition. #EDPWeChooseEarth

  • EDP is successfully implementing its strategy by converting long-term investments in networks, renewable energy, and electrification into sustainable value creation. In the first half of 2026, recurring EBITDA increased by 5% year-on-year to €€2,729 million. This growth was driven by strong performance in both the renewables and networks sectors, the latter benefiting from new regulatory periods in Iberia. Meanwhile, recurring net profit remained stable at €753 million. Additionally, operational efficiency improved, with recurring operating expenses (Opex) decreasing by 3%. The rising electricity demand across Iberia further strengthens the long-term fundamentals of our business plan. In Portugal, demand is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.5%, with approximately 60% of this growth attributed to data centres. This underscores the essential role of electricity networks and renewable energy in facilitating the region's digital and economic development. As electrification continues to accelerate, we remain committed to disciplined execution and to creating the infrastructure necessary for future growth. This strong performance in the first half of the year has led us to revise our 2026 guidance, raising it above the targets we presented at our Capital Markets Day. • Behind every EDP asset, there are people whose expertise keeps the energy transition moving forward every day. They are at the heart of everything we do. That's the inspiration behind The Heart of Our Energy, EDP's new global video series celebrating the people behind our Renewable Generation Assets and the role they play in delivering operational excellence, driving innovation and creating lasting value for the communities where we operate. Our journey starts in Indiana, US, where we spend a day on site with Jay, Plant Lead Technician at Carpenter Wind. Through his daily routine, we discover how renewable energy and local farming work side by side, creating long-term value for surrounding communities. 🎬 Watch the first episode below. #EDPWeChooseEarth #TheHeartOfOurEnergy

How can technology, policy and energy infrastructure evolve together to power the future? That’s the main question discussed in the first episode of Power Shifts, the new mini-series from The Next Five podcast by FT Partner Content. In this episode, our CEO, Miguel Stilwell d'Andrade, joins former President of the European Commission José Manuel Durão Barroso, and tech visionary and author Mo Gawdat for a conversation on some of the defining challenges of our time. From AI and the growing energy demands of data centres to geopolitics, energy security and the transition to a net-zero future, the discussion examines the forces reshaping our world and what it will take to build a more resilient and sustainable energy system. • When access to the energy transition is limited, the consequences are felt inside the home: less comfort, greater electrical safety risks and direct impacts on families’ health and wellbeing. Green Home is helping to change that. Across five countries, the program supports families experiencing energy poverty through electrical upgrades, improved insulation and more efficient lighting solutions, helping create safer, more comfortable and energy-efficient homes. By adapting each intervention to local needs, Green Home is helping improve living conditions and reduce energy inequalities in the communities where EDP operates. • In a world where AI is reshaping almost every industry, humans bear a greater responsibility than ever. If intelligence is becoming abundant and accessible to all, the real question is: where do we want to direct it? Answering that requires something far deeper than data - it requires wisdom. To mark EDP’s 50th anniversary, we hosted a thought-provoking conversation at MAAT Central with historian and philosopher Yuval Noah Harari on humanity, progress, and AI. This technological potential is a tool to help us reach our goals, but the power to choose our direction remains human. As we look ahead, our commitment is to use this wisdom to make the right strategic choices, ensuring that, as we imagine the next 50 years, we are actively building a future that serves both humanity and the planet. #EDPWeChooseEarth #EDP50Years #ImaginetheNext50

"The AI revolution is not a year away. The revolution is here." This impactful statement by tech visionary and author Mo Gawdat set the tone at our “Imagine the Next 50” summit in Lisbon, an event designed precisely to discuss the forces shaping the future of energy. During his intervention, Gawdat challenged us to spot the paradoxes of an era where a massive technological leap requires an unprecedented scale of power. Here are the key thought leadership takeaways from his perspective: ➡️ The hype vs. the shock: the true shift of future tech is already here. The coming months will be about how quickly organisations adapt to intuitive, human-like AI interfaces. ➡️ The clean energy mandate: a data-driven world cannot rely on yesterday's grids. As energy requirements surge exponentially, the success of the tech ecosystem will be intrinsically linked to the scale and deployment of renewable energy. ➡️ Leading through uncertainty: navigating this fast-evolving landscape requires ultimate leadership skills. To anchor progress, leaders must be capable of picturing the future while deciding today, operating with deep agility and a strong tolerance for change. As we look toward the next 50 years, Mo Gawdat reminds us that, despite the chaotic nature of this global transition, he is highly optimistic about the future of EDP, highlighting that we have a unique chance to step up and scale the clean grids required to power this massive intelligence utility. #EDPWeChooseEarth #EDP50Years #ImagineTheNext50
