Through the immersive true story of an Egyptian lesbian couple seeking refuge in the Netherlands, the experience invites visitors to reflect on freedom, identity, and what it truly means to find a place to call home. 💪🏻This month, we were also delighted to join our long-standing partner, the Taiwan Tongzhi (LGBTQ+) #Hotline Association, at its 2026 Fundraising Gala. We look forward to continuing our collaboration on education and advocacy, helping more people see that no one should have to walk the journey toward equality and belonging alone. #TogetherStronger #LGBTIQ+ #EqualRights #Unity #NLinTW

🏳️🌈 On 25 July, we proudly welcomed the world to Amsterdam for the opening of WorldPride Amsterdam2026. Over the next two weeks, people from around the globe will come together to celebrate a fundamental human right: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞. #WorldPrideAmsterdam2026 brings together LGBTIQ+ communities, governments, civil society organisations, businesses, and allies from across the world. At a time when democracy and human rights continue to face challenges, this global gathering reminds us that unity and solidarity are essential to protecting equal rights for all. We are also honoured that Her Majesty Queen Máxima officially opened WorldPride Amsterdam 2026 at Pride Park in Vondelpark, highlighting the importance of visibility, respect, and a society where everyone can truly be themselves. The semiconductor expertise of both Taiwan and the Netherlands fuels global innovation in semiconductors, facilitating advancements in cutting-edge technology and establishing a robust supply chain. Furthermore, research in the fields of biomedical and biotechnology healthcare has emerged as a significant focus, collaboratively enhancing global health and well-being. ✨ Lauren Liebe from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency HQ provided an in-depth analysis of the Netherlands' robust Biotech Ecosystem—from top research institutions and a comprehensive clinical trial environment to international industry-academia collaboration—demonstrating the Netherlands' unique appeal as a European biomedical innovation hub. 🙌 Marielle Lagers delivers a compelling presentation on Access to Capital, providing in-depth analysis of key Dutch policies attracting businesses — including various R&D incentives, flexible capital access channels, and a competitive tax structure. This offers Taiwanese biotech companies practical strategic guidance for expanding into overseas markets! ✨ Yi Chen (Renee) Yeh for providing insights into the legal aspects of conducting operations in Europe. From the perspective of a legal advisor, she has shared valuable information and notes for Taiwanese companies. ✨ An online session with experts from the European Medicines Agency provided comprehensive analysis of regulatory support tools for innovative medicines and technology developers, offering authoritative regulatory guidance and resource support for innovative medicine and technology developers looking to enter the European market! 💕 Special thanks to Tony Chung, CEO of INB, shared his valuable practical experience in investing and expanding businesses in the Netherlands, addressing the key success factors for Taiwanese biotech companies when establishing an overseas presence. The Netherlands is not only a gateway to the European market, but also the best partner for biotechnology research and development and international cooperation! Recently, our Representative Bas Pulles paid a visit to Dutch semiconductor equipment company #ASM in Hsinchu. 🏢 Founded in the Netherlands in 1968, ASM has grown into a global leader in semiconductor equipment, with 15 locations and 4,500 employees worldwide, and continues to push the boundaries of technological innovation. 📈 In response to the rapid growth of the global semiconductor industry, ASM has continued to expand its presence in Taiwan, growing into a team of nearly 600 employees in just 15 years. 🤝 Representative Bas Pulles enjoyed meeting with Mr. Steve Lu, General Manager of ASM Taiwan, to exchange views on Netherlands–Taiwan trade relations, AI-driven industrial development, and talent-related issues. They also discussed preparations for the upcoming Dutch delegation to #SEMICONTaiwan this September. 👏 We are proud of ASM’s growth in Taiwan! Earlier this year, our Representative Bas Pulles and Minister of Sports Lee Yang reaffirmed their shared ambition to deepen Netherlands–Taiwan cooperation in sport and promote sport for all. Building on this shared vision, the Netherlands Office Taipei spent the first half of the year celebrating sport as a bridge between people and cultures. From introducing the Netherlands' cycling culture and world-renowned speed skating tradition, to cheering on Oranje during the FIFA World Cup and embracing the spirit of Football brings people together, sport created new opportunities to connect with our Taiwanese partners. The exchange also went both ways. Representative Pulles took part in a traditional Dragon Boat race for the first time, experiencing Taiwan's rich cultural heritage and discovering the teamwork, energy and community spirit that make the sport so special. These exchanges extended beyond the playing field. At our Sport for All Roundtable discussion, representatives from Taiwan's Ministry of Sports, Sports for All Agency and sports organisations joined us to exchange views on sport-for-all policies, community sports clubs, cycling culture, athlete development and sports safety. Representative Pulles shared how sport is embedded in everyday life in the Netherlands—from learning to swim at a young age to growing up on bicycles—and highlighted the vital role community sports clubs play in encouraging lifelong participation in sport.   Our Deputy Representative Matthijs van der Hoorn introduced the 𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭’𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 2032, outlining the Netherlands' long-term vision to make sport accessible to everyone, support athletic excellence, and strengthen social cohesion through sport.   Dutch-Taiwanese speed skater Ju-Lin de Visser also shared her journey from a local Dutch sports club to the national team, illustrating how strong grassroots sports systems help develop future generations of athletes. ⛸️❄️ Looking for a cool way to beat the summer heat? Step onto the ice with us! The Netherlands Office Taipei recently hosted 𝐒𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐍𝐋–𝐓𝐖 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, welcoming Dutch-Taiwanese speed skater Ju-Lin de Visser back to Taiwan. Together with students from #NederlandseSchoolTaipei , Ju-Lin shared the joy of skating before everyone watched Frozen Lines, a documentary about her inspiring journey on the ice. 🎓 荷蘭在台辦事處代表浦樂施(Bas Pulles)日前很榮幸受國立台灣大學國際學院邀請，擔任 「認識全球與在地國際化」課程客座講師。 📚 浦樂施代表與同學們分享荷蘭與台灣近四百年的歷史連結、民主價值，以及台荷在半導體、離岸風電、教育、創新等領域的合作，也介紹荷蘭在台辦事處如何持續促進雙邊交流，深化台荷夥伴關係。 💬課堂上的問答交流十分熱烈，同學們提出許多深入且富有啟發性的問題，展現對國際事務、外交工作與台荷關係的高度關注。 🙏特別感謝國立台灣大學國際學院以及國際事務處副國際長李君浩教授的邀請與接待，讓我們有機會與青年學子交流，促進更多國際對話與連結。 🎓 Earlier this month, our Representative Bas Pulles was honoured to be invited by the International College at National Taiwan University (NTUIC) as a guest lecturer for the course "Global Competence with Internationalization at Home." 📚 During the session, Representative Pulles shared insights into the nearly 400-year relationship between the Netherlands and Taiwan, our shared democratic values, and our cooperation in areas such as semiconductors, offshore wind, education, and innovation. He also introduced the role of the Netherlands Office Taipei in strengthening the longstanding partnership between the Netherlands and Taiwan. 💬 The discussion continued well beyond the presentation, with students asking thoughtful and engaging questions on international affairs, diplomacy, and Netherlands–Taiwan relations. It was inspiring to exchange ideas with such a curious and globally minded group of students. 🙏 Our sincere thanks to #NTUIC and Prof. Jiun-Haw Lee, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, for the kind invitation and warm hospitality. 星期一模式啟動中……電量不足嗎？ 送上剛出爐的 #橘龍在天 能量包！🐉⚡ 一起回顧熱血沸騰的龍舟賽事，為新的一週補滿元氣！ 端午假期，荷蘭辦事處與贊助商們組成 #橘龍在天 龍舟隊參加 #臺北國際龍舟錦標賽 ，在豔陽與鼓聲中全力以赴。 上午賽事結束後，浦樂施代表（Bas Pulles）對團隊很有信心：「下午的表演賽，我們一定會划得更好！」 結果，我們真的做到了！🥇 #橘龍在天 在下午的表演賽中以2分29秒成績勇奪分組冠軍。 我們也很榮幸邀請到臺北市長 #蔣萬安 蒞臨荷蘭辦事處攤位，與浦樂施代表交流互動，並展開荷蘭傳統桌上遊戲 Sjoelen友誼賽。 最後，兩人也互贈隊服，象徵臺北市與荷蘭之間的友誼與交流，為當天留下特別的一刻。🧡 希望這股龍舟精神，也能陪伴大家迎接充滿活力的一週！💪 ☕ Monday mode: activated... need a little extra energy? Dragon boat racing is about more than speed. It's about teamwork, determination, and the spirit that keeps everyone moving in sync. After the morning races, our Representative Bas Pulles said: 💬 "We'll do even better in the afternoon." And he was right. 🥇 Division winners in the afternoon invitational race. The excitement continued off the water as Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an stopped by the Netherlands booth for a friendly visit. Invited by Representative Bas Pulles, he also took part in a friendly game of Sjoelen, a traditional Dutch tabletop game.
