  • Fantastic to see our Director and two members of the Mahoney Contracts senior management team take part in the incredible Limestone 50 challenge 👏🏻 It was a privilege to spend time with our client, the Co-op Property and Construction team, catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones along the way. Covering 50 miles and climbing more for 6,000ft over 2 days was an immense achievement. It was inspiring to see everyone pushing their limits, supporting one another and coming together in memory of Matt Walker and in support of Salford ICU and Cancer Research UK. A tremendous effort for two incredibly worthy causes. Well done to everyone involved! ❤️💪🏼 Donations can still be made via the link in the original post 👇🏼

What an incredible few days for the Co-op Property & Co-op Construction team. 👏 On 15-16 July, 40 colleagues from across Co-op Property and our supply chain took on the Limestone 50 challenge, covering 50 miles through the Peak District and climbing more than 6,000ft over two demanding days. Starting and finishing in Castleton, the team completed 30 miles on day one before reaching Youlgrave for an overnight stop, with the final 20 miles completed on day two. It was a huge physical and mental challenge, but one that everyone approached with determination, resilience and an incredible team spirit. This year's walk carried even greater meaning as it was completed in memory of our friend and colleague, Matt Walker, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Matt played an integral role in previous charity walks, always bringing enthusiasm, positivity and a relentless commitment to supporting good causes. While he wasn't physically with us, his influence, encouragement, good humour and spirit were felt throughout the challenge by everyone. Together, we're raising funds for: 💙 Salford ICU – providing life-saving care and support to patients and families during their most difficult moments. 🎗️ Cancer Research UK – funding world-leading research into cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, the families who supported the team, colleagues across The Co-op Group and our supply chain partners who donated, encouraged and helped make this possible. We've so close to our £10,000 target but we'd love to go even further. • 🌊 Supporting our Local Environment Together 🌊 Today, three members of the Mahoney Contracts team swapped the office for the shoreline, volunteering their time to take part in a beach clean at Fleetwood Beach. The Fylde Coast is one of the UK's most affected coastlines by marine litter. More than 22,500 pieces of litter in a single year are recorded, with around 77% being plastic. Every item removed from our beaches helps protect marine wildlife, prevents plastics from breaking down into harmful microplastics, and contributes to a cleaner, healthier environment for everyone to enjoy. We're proud to play a part in looking after our local coastline - because every piece of litter collected is a step towards a cleaner future 🌍

21 miles. 21°C. One hospital bed. Day 3 was relentless. With the sun beating down, Andrew Nuttall and the Trinity Push Force team completed another huge stretch of the challenge, pushing from Bolton through to Chorley. Along the way, they visited Bolton Hospice and Derian House Children's Hospice, taking the running total to: 53 miles completed 4 hospices visited £61,131 raised They are now nearly halfway through the distance, but there is still a long way to go before the fundraising total reaches £100,000. Today, the team will push on from Chorley to St Catherine's Hospice, Lancashire and towards Preston, before finishing at Owd Nell’s for a very well-earned pint and a chance to recover. The effort going into this is difficult to put into words. The miles, the hills, the heat, the aching feet and they are still getting up and doing it all again the next morning. Thanks to your donations and shares, we have raised well over £1,000 through our page in the last couple of days alone. That support matters more than you might think. Every donation shows the team that people are behind them and helps fund essential care for local families. Zak Valentine-Lynden at Blackpool Industrial Roofing LTD has now set us all a simple challenge: Donate £1 at 1pm today. Imagine what could happen if everyone reading this stopped for one minute and donated just £1. The team are doing the miles. We can help with the pounds. As they push towards 100 miles, let’s help push the fundraising total towards £100,000 before the finish line. With only 9 days to go, the final preparations are now underway. It's been a tough 6 months of training, all leading up to this year's challenge. This week, I'd like to say a huge thank you to Ste, Ste and Chrissy from Mahoney Contracts for providing our walking team and becoming another company to sponsor the bed. It's amazing to see how many companies and individuals are pulling together to help us raise £100,000 in vital funds for Trinity Hospice and Brian House. Please keep donating, sharing our story, and supporting us as we set off on 6th July. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a real difference. • We are incredibly proud to announce that Mahoney Contracts has been recognised as the Co-operative Champions 2026 award winner. Our partnership with The Co-operative spans more than 20 years, and we're honoured to continue supporting their commitment to keeping stores trading with minimal disruption to the local community throughout our projects. This award is testament to the dedication, professionalism, and collaborative approach of our entire team. The supplier event was also an inspiring experience, with a series of engaging speakers sharing the Co-op's vision, values, and future ambitions. • Last week, two members of our Operations team generously volunteered their time to support The Big Food Project. As part of our employee-supported volunteering initiative, team members are encouraged to give back to causes that matter to them, using dedicated volunteering time to make a positive impact within our local community. On this occasion, they assisted with collecting donations from local business across Blackpool, helping to ensure essential food and supplies reach individuals and families who need them most. Empowering our people to contribute beyond the workplace is something we truly value, and it makes us incredibly proud to see that commitment in action 👏🏻

  • Pride Month is a powerful reminder that inclusion isn't just value - it's something we build into our workplaces everyday. The construction industry has always been about strength and resilience. This month, we recognise that our strength also comes from diversity. Creating inclusive sites means: • Fostering a culture of respect • Supporting policies that protect all workers • Speaking up against discrimination • Celebrating the diverse identities that make our teams stronger When everyone feels safe and valued on site, we build better projects, and a better industry where everyone can show up as their authentic selves. #PrideMonth 🌈
