Creating joy from grape to glass since 2000

About us

Life is for living to the fullest, which for us means creating great tasting wines we know our customers will love and enjoying every step of the journey from grape to glass. Since launching in 2000, we’ve sold over 100 million bottles to wine lovers in the UK, offering every style imaginable, catering to all palates and preferences. We’ve built our range over the years by working hand in hand with talented independent winemakers across the globe to create and source exclusive wines, as well as using ratings and reviews from our customers to develop more of what they like. A big part of what makes us so unique in the wine world is that we like to turn our specialist subject into something that’s accessible and fun for all, from total beginners to seasoned pros. And as a Virgin brand through and through, we go that extra mile to deliver an experience that’s extraordinary. Cheers to that!

  • For us, finding joy in every step of the journey from grape to glass is so important, and one of the ways we do this is through memorable wine tasting experiences for our community. Our annual Edinburgh event at the weekend was an absolute pleasure, as always ❤️🍷 We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a memorable one, from our wonderful customers to our winemakers, suppliers and the team at Edinburgh Corn Exchange. Here’s to the next one!

It’s time to raise a glass to the incredibly talented teams behind our success! We’re award winners 🏆🍷 We’re thrilled to share that Virgin Wines was named Online Retailer of the Year at the Drinks Business Awards yesterday. Judges described us as a “complete and compelling package; digitally native, consumer-focused and delivering profitable growth". And the celebrations didn’t stop there. At the Drinks Buyers Awards, our brilliant buying team won Sustainable Drinks Buying Team of the Year. Judges praised our top-down approach to sustainability and recognised Virgin Wines as a leader in industry sustainability initiatives. Our continued work to reduce bottle weights, increase bulk shipping, strengthen supplier due diligence and our on-site sustainability filter all contributed to the win. Alongside this fantastic team recognition, two members of our buying team were also honoured individually. Junior Buyer Isabelle Wardlow won Rising Star Drinks Buyer of the Year, while Senior Buyer Dave Roberts was named Wine Buyer of the Year in the Supermarkets and Multiples category. Both were recognised for their deep understanding of customer needs, strong commercial success and authentic commitment to the wider industry. We’re incredibly proud to see our team’s passion, dedication and expertise recognised in this way. Their hard work is what enables us to keep bringing exceptional wines and experiences to our customers every day. Cheers to many more years of great wine and continued success! 🍾
