The mass media in the midst of modernization have an critical role in its function of disseminating information. The media plays a role in cultural values bequeathed to the community. In highlighting the cultural content, the mass media construct reality often included in the package of events and cultural nuances of an ethnic event. Metro TV television media is understood as the ideology of pluralism in Indonesia. Based television news seems most have special concern for diversity to frame the nuances of Chinese, especially during Chinese New Year. In reporting, these journalists and the media often involves ideology of their personal values so that the nuances of Chinese news is framed in such a way. Some of the news broadcast is in conformity with reality, but there are also some things in the news there are hidden assumptions that can actually obscure the facts and lead to wrong perception by the public audience. Pendahuluan edatangan etnis Tionghoa ke Indonesia sudah diperkirakan terjadi berabadabad silam. Berdasarkan fakta sejarah, label sebagai suku pendatang sudah melekat pada etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia. Suhandinata (2009: 31) mengatakan selama berabad-abad warga Cina dari dari bagian tenggara telah bermigrasi ke kepulauan Indonesia. Dari beberapa kelompok dialek migrasi utama, Hokkian merupakan pemukim perintis. Ini berarti, keberadaan etnis Tionghoa sudah menjadi bagian perjalanan Bangsa Indonesia Sensus penduduk tahun 2000 yang pertama kali mencatat latar suku/etnis seseorang menyebutkan etnis Tionghoa hanya menempati urutan ke-15 dari 101 kelompok yang tercatat. Sebesar 1.738.936 orang atau 0,86% dari jumlah seluruh penduduk Indonesia sebanyak 201.092.238 orang. Namun, paling tidak hasil sensus menunjukkan bahwa di 11 propinsi Indonesia, jumlah warga etnis Tionghoa * Suwito adalah alumnus Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitras Tarumanagara Jakarta. Tulisan ini dibuat dari pengembangan skripsi penulis.

Anemia ditemukan sekitar13,8% kematian ibu (Ross, 2003). Ini juga telah diperkirakan bahwa pengurangan 1% dalam hasil status besi pengurangan 1% dalam produktivitas (Haddad dan Bouis, 1991). Selain risiko yang mendasari komplikasi kehamilan, ibu anemia berjuang untuk merawat diri mereka sendiri dan anak-anak mereka dengan benar. Menurut WHO, anemia di antara wanita yang tidak hamil adalah 33% dan pada ibu hamil 44%, yang merupakan serius masalah kesehatan masyarakat (UNICEF). Karena bahasa Indonesia Survei Demografi dan Kesehatan (DHSS) tidak mengumpulkan angka anemia dan anemia tidak termasuk dengan relevansi statistik dalam survei nasional terbaru, melaporkan tren dalam status anemia adalah sulit. Depkes melaporkan bahwa pada tahun 1995, 50,9% wanita hamil menderita anemia tetapi pada tahun 2001 persentase itu menurun menjadi 40,1% (Atmarita, 2005). Namun, data tidak hanya langka tetapi tidak konsisten. Sebuah Bank Dunia melaporkan bahwa anemia pada ibu hamil Bahasa Indonesia adalah 63% pada tahun 2005, jauh lebih tinggi dari Depkes 2001 statistik. Dan anemia pada ibu hamil yang hidup di daerah kumuh perkotaan lebih buruk daripada di daerah pedesaan. Menurut sebuah studi setelah krisis ekonomi 1998, dari semua wilayah yang diteliti, wanita hamil yang hidup di daerah kumuh Jakarta memiliki tingkat tertinggi dari anemia (64%) (HKI, 1999).

Television live shows have a higher complexity than shows produced with recording formats. In terms of preparation should be done in detail and planned. Discussions are not only done repeatedly between production crew, but also against the performers. The reason is that the live broadcast on television does not have the opportunity to edit as the broadcasts do with the recording format. Various errors and irregularities may occur in live events. A more critical aberration is when it violates the rule of law and social norms. Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) as mandated by Law no. 32/2002 Broadcasting, has published the Broadcasting Standards and Broadcast Program Standards Guidelines (P3SPS) to arrange for television stations to always produce good quality programs. However, in KPI observations the number of sanctions for television stations due to P3SPS violations has not decreased. A prominent breach case is the mistake made by the performers due to not following the script that has been prepared, doing spot scene that turned out to violate the rules P3SPS. This research seeks to uncover the process of producing live television programs. As a sample of research selected two national television stations. Abstrak Acara televisi yang disiarkan secara langsung memiliki kompleksitas yang lebih tinggi dibanding acara yang diproduksi dengan format rekaman. Dari sisi persiapan harus dilakukan secara detil dan terencana. Diskusi tidak hanya dilakukan berulang kali antar awak produksi, tapi juga terhadap para pengisi acara. Penyebabnya adalah acara yang disiarkan secara langsung di televisi tidak memiliki kesempatan untuk melakukan penyuntingan se-bagaimana yang dilakukan siaran dengan format rekaman. Berbagai kesalahan dan penyimpangan berpeluang terjadi dalam acara siaran langsung. Penyimpangan yang lebih genting adalah ketika melanggar aturan hukum dan norma-norma sosial. Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia (KPI) sesuai amanat Undang-Undang No. 32/2002 Penyiaran, telah menerbitkan Pedoman Perilaku Penyiaran dan Standar Program Siaran (P3SPS) untuk mengatur agar stasiun televisi selalu memproduksi acara yang layak untuk ditonton masyarakat. Namun, dalam pengamatan KPI jumlah sanksi untuk stasiun televisi akibat pelanggaran P3SPS tidak kunjung mengalami penurunan. Kasus pelanggaran yang menonjol adalah kesalahan yang dilakukan para pengisi acara akibat tidak mengikuti naskah yang sudah disusun, melakukan adegan spotan yang ternyata melanggar aturan P3SPS. Penelitian ini berupaya mengungkap proses produksi siaran langsung televisi untuk menghasilkan acara yang layak tonton. Sebagai sample penelitian dipilih dua stasiun televisi nasional. Metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif.

Peristiwa politik penting yang menjadi perhatian media dan masyarakat pada 2017 adalah Pilkada DKI Jakarta. Bagi media, Pilkada DKI Jakarta merupakan topik berita yang layak mendapat perhatian dan ditempatkan sebagai berita penting. Penyebabnya adalah bertarungnya calon-calon gubernur DKI Jakarta yang merupakan tokoh-tokoh populer di masyarakat. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, putera pertama presiden ke enam RI Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Basuki Tjahaya Purnama, didukung presiden ke lima RI Megawati Sukarno Putri, dan Anis Baswedan, didukung mantan calon presiden 2014 Prabowo Subiyanto. Pada pemilu 2014 dan pemilihan presiden 2014, beberapa redaksi media, terutama media televisi yang pemiliknya memiliki afiliasi politik, dinilai oleh Dewan Pers terindikasi berpihak kepada salah satu kontestan. Bagaimana dengan pemilihan Gubernur DKI Jakarta? Dalam pemberitaan Pilkada DKI Jakarta mereka berupaya bersikap netral, meski pemilik media memiliki keterkaitan politik. Penelitian ini berupaya mengungkap upaya-upaya yang dilakukan beberapa redaksi televisi menjaga objektivitas dalam pemberitaan Pilkada DKI Jakarta. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Sebagai sample penelitian, dipilih satu stasiun berita dan dua stasiun televisi bukan berita.

ABSTRAK Hubungan Indonesia-Singapura telah memasuki usia 50 tahun. Hubungan kedua negara tersebut telah terbina dengan baik, namun masih terdapat beberapa masalah. Persoalan kedua negara yang masih menjadi isu sensitif itu, sering kali memancing sentimen negatif masyarakat Indonesia akibat pemberitaan media massa. Sentimen negatif berupa opini publik dapat mendorong kepada keretakan hubungan kedua negara. Mengacu pada teori multi-track diplomacy, peran media massa cukup berpengaruh dalam menjaga harmonisasi hubungan antar negara. Masyarakat umumnya mendapatkan gambaran positif atau negatif mengenai negara tetangga dari pemberitaan media massa. Dalam komunikasi politik internasional, media massa sangat efektif menjadi mediator antar negara. Dalam menanggapi isu tertentu, media massa dapat digunakan sebagai alat diplomasi antar negara. Salah satu media massa yang dinilai penting oleh pemerintah Indonesia dan Singapura adalah surat kabar berbahasa Inggris JP. Penelitian ini berupaya mengetahui kebijakan redaksi surat kabar berbahasa Inggris JP dalam memberitakan hubungan Indonesia-Singapura. Penelitian ini menggunakan perspektif kualitatif bersifat deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan redaksi JP menjalankan peran diplomasi dalam pemberitaan hubungan Indonesia dan Singapura. Menggunakan teori hirarki pengaruh terhadap media, terlihat kebijakan redaksi JP dalam memberitakan hubungan Indonesia dan Singapura terpengaruh oleh sikap pendirinya Jusuf Wanandi untuk menjaga hubungan baik antar negara ASEAN, dan ideologi JP yang menjunjung nilai-nilai kemanusiaan, perdamaian, demokrasi dan pluralisme.

Abstrak Saat ini pesawat drone telah menjadi perlengkapan wajib dalam peliputan berita. Pesawat drone memberikan kemudahan dan penghematan bagi media pemberitaan untuk mengambil gambar dengan sudut pengambilan dari angkasa. Dengan drone media massa, terutama televisi dapat memperkaya visual dalam beritanya. Namun dengan segala kelebihannya, penggunaan pesawat drone tetap harus mempertimbangkan etika jurnalistik. Antara lain persoalan privasi dan izin peliputan. Penelitian ini hendak menggali perspektif wartawan terhadap etika jurnalistik ketika melakukan peliputan dengan memanfaatkan pesawat drone. Penelitian ini menggunakan perspektif kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Penelitian ini melibatkan empat orang wartawan drone (drone journalist) dari dua stasiun televisi. Wartawan yang dapat mengemudikan drone belum banyak. Masing-masing televisi hanya memiliki empat orang wartawan. Dari empat wartawan drone, peneliti mengambil partisipan dua orang wartawan drone yang telah bersertifikat dan berpengalaman pada masing-masing televisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua wartawan drone memahami dengan benar etika peliputan menggunakan drone. Tuntutan tugas untuk mendapatkan gambar yang bagus menyebabkan para wartawaterkadang mengabaikan etika peliputan drone. Abstract Currently, drones have become a mandatory equipment in news coverage. Drones provide convenience and cost savings for the media to take bird eye pictures. With drones, mass media, especially television can enrich the visual aspect of their news. However, with all its advantages, the use of drones must still consider journalistic ethics such as privacy issues and permission to report among other things. This research is aimed to explore the perspective of journalists toward the journalism ethics on television news coverage using drone technology. This research used qualitative approach with phenomenology method. This research involved four drone journalists from two television stations. Not many reporters can control a drone, each television station has four journalists who can do so. From the four drone reporters, the researchers took two certified and experienced drone reporters from each television station as participants. The result shows that not all drone reporters are aware about the ethics of drone usage on news coverage. The demand to obtain good footage causes drone reporters to ignore journalism ethics on drone use.

Isu keberagaman merupakan isu sensitif yang jika tidak ditangani dengan bijaksana akan menjadi persoalan yang mendegradasi kerukunan bangsa. Media massa yang memiliki fungsi-fungsi ideal sebagai medium informasi dan sosialisasi, dirasa masih kurang memberi perhatian terhadap isu keberagaman. Padahal peran media massa, terutama media massa konvergen sangat berpengaruh terhadap hal ini. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran pandangan para jurnalis dari media konvergen Liputan 6.com dalam melihat isu keberagaman. Jurnalis yang menjadi partisipan adalah dari level senior (wakil pemimpin redaksi), madya (redaktur), dan yunior (reporter). Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Dasar teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jurnalisme damai dan pengaturan agenda media. Penggalian data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan juga observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan redaksi Liputan 6.com untuk berhati-hati dalam memberitakan topik keberagaman (unsur SARA) telah dipahami secara seragam oleh tiap level jurnalis. Selain itu ada kesadaran yang dimiliki secara pribadi dari tiap partisipan untuk mengedepankan kehati-hatian dalam memberitakan tipik keberagamany.

Social media users are increasing, along with the growth of internet users and mobile communication devices. The younger generation prefers social media to find information and entertainment. As a result, old media like television began to be abandoned by the audience. Another impact is advertisers on television tend to decrease. In the theory of media convergence (Pavlik, 2001), to survive the old media must adopt new media technology, so that the content can appear on diverse or multi-platform media. Television must use social media to maintain loyal audiences and reach social media users to watch television news. The MNC group which has four free to air televisions, iNews, RCTI, MNC, Global TV, began to build social media. This research aims to describes the activities of MNC's social media team in utilizing social media. This study uses a qualitative perspective with a case study method. Data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The conclusion of this study is MNC group uses social media to promote its news programs. Social media become as program extensions for television. The MNC social media team works as a content uploader for news programs that have aired on television, and also creates their own social media content. News curation is carried out by social media teams. ABSTRAK Pengguna media sosial semakin meningkat, seiring dengan tumbuhnya pengguna internet dan perangkat komunikasi bergerak. Generasi muda lebih banyak memilih media sosial untuk mencari informasi dan hiburan. Akibatnya media lama seperti televisi mulai ditinggalkan penonton. Dampak selanjutnya pemasang iklan di televisi cenderung berkurang. Dalam teori konvergensi media (Pavlik, 2001), untuk mempertahankan hidupnya, media lama harus mengadopsi teknologi media baru, sehingga kontennya dapat tampil pada media yang beragam (multi-platform). Mau tak mau televisi harus memanfaatkan media sosial untuk mempertahankan penonton setianya dan menjangkau pengguna media sosial agar menonton berita televisi. Grup MNC yang memiliki empat stasiun televisi free to air, iNews, RCTI, MNC, Global TV, mulai membangun media sosialnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan implementasi konvergensi media sosial di televisi grup MNC. Penelitian ini menggunakan perspektif kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi dan dokumentasi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah MNC menggunakan media sosial untuk mempromosikan program-program beritanya. Media sosial menjadi layar berikutnya untuk konten televisi. Tim media sosial MNC tidak hanya bekerja sebagai pengunggah konten program berita yang sudah tayang di televisi(content uploader), tapi juga menjadi pencipta konten (content creator) media sosial. This study aims to determine the convergence process between social media and television in Indonesian television broadcasting companies, by taking a case study at a television broadcasting company called Indosiar. Convergence is carried out as a result of the large number of social media users in Indonesia. The number of internet users in Indonesia is 175.4 million people or 64% of the total population of Indonesia. Meanwhile, the number of social media users reaches 160 million people or 59% of Indonesia's total population. Many television broadcasting companies are converging with social media, one of them is Indosiar. The research using the observation method was carried out mid to late 2019. The research was stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The research continued with in-depth interviews in early 2021. To find out the form of convergence that occurs in Indosiar, this study uses the concept of Pavlik (2001) regarding journalistic convergence: newsroom, newsgathering and content. Meanwhile, to determine the degree of convergence, this study uses the convergence continuum from Dailey, Demo and Spillman (2005). Journalist certification is a program of the Press Council to improve the competence and professionalism of journalists. The program, which has been running for ten years, is not running smoothly. Of the 40 thousand journalists registered in the Press Council, only 17 thousand have participated in the journalist competency test. The Indonesian Television Journalists Association, a journalist organization under the Press Council, from 1863 members were only able to test 745 journalists. The reason is that journalist certification does not linearly affect journalists' welfare. The media where journalists work does not require passing journalist certification. This study aims to explore the motives of television journalists following the journalist competency test using the theoretical basis of Alfred Schutz's motives. Television journalists were selected as samples who had participated in the journalist competency test held by the Indonesian Television Journalists Association. The selection of participants was carried out using a purposive sampling technique, namely television journalists who had participated in the competency test and were members of the Indonesian Television Journalists Association. This study used a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. The results showed that the because-motives of participating in UKJ were self-proof and pride in being a journalist. Meanwhile, in-order-to-motives is to get public recognition and is different from "abal-abal" (low quality) journalists.

Alternative media have long been placed as media that provide space for marginalized groups from the mainstream media. When the mainstream media is controlled by an authoritarian political system, alternative media becomes an instrument of communication for opposition groups. Likewise, when the democratic political system which causes the mainstream media to be controlled by media conglomerates, alternative media remains a medium that is free from hegemonic capital power. Alternative media perform counterhegemony against the mainstream media. Provides a different perspective from information dominance.This article aims to determine the form of counter-hegemony conducted by alternative media. The sample in this study is Konde.co and Magdelene.co. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. The results showed that Konde.co and Magdalene.co played a role as a counter hegemony against the mainstream media. Both of them criticized how the mainstream media portrayed women from patriarchal ideology. Konde.co and Magdalene.co narratives favor women, always from the point of view of women and always defending women's interests. Unfortunately alternative media often have difficulty in operational funds. It needs to be adjusted in applying anti-business and non-commercial principles so that alternative media can live.

Indonesia is the country affected by the COVID-19 virus. One of the cities that became epicentrum of the spread of the Covid-19 virus is DKI Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. Therefore, the Government enacted PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) DKI Jakarta policy on April 10, 2020 to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. However, the government's decision to impose a policy of PSBB reaps the pros and cons. The purpose of this research is to identify the news about the Pro Cons of PSBB DKI Jakarta in both online media editions from April 7 to May 30, 2020. By using The Framing Theory of Robert N. Entman Model, with qualitative approach. Based on the problem formulation in this study, researchers found detik.com and Kompas.com framing in presenting a news story. Detik.com one of the media that is counter, while Kompas.com is a media pro to PSBB policy in DKI Jakarta. The ideology used by detik.com is the economy, it can be seen through the perspective of the media Detik.com that emphasize of economic growth. Meanwhile Kompas.com healthcare ideology by supporting policies and paying attention to the health of community.

Internet has become necessary for everyone in the current era of information technology. Technology allows millennial to be exposed to foreign cultures which are adapted to their current social life. Culture jamming is the result of post-modernity movements characterized by social criticism and resistance to things related to modernity. The intent is to subvert symbols and meanings or to counter hegemony. Besides, it critiques the media manipulation of reality and questions corporate power. It demarkets news, entertainments, lifestyles, and desires in human's daily loop of consumerism. This activism is similar to the concept of noise in communication model by Shannon and Weaver. The intent is to alter political contents by defacing symbols to reconstruct meanings that undermine advertisers' intention using communication technology. As a result, the target will receive new meanings in cultural or political perspectives. Culture jamming phenomenon in politics can be found in the form of meme, media hoaxing, hacking, and Adbusters. Asides from the anti-marketing "consumerism" phenomena, the aim of paper is to show meme forms as the basic units of culture jamming which have emerged in one year regime of Jokowi. First meme that reconstructed Jokowi in TIME publication's cover was issued in October 2014. And the second meme reconstructs Jokowi as the object of Tokobagus.com advertisement. These memes are used to be a new medium of critics and also an effective tool for binary opposition in defacing political issues.
