Data was gathered from 687 employees of five-star hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh using a structured survey instrument with time-lag approach. A partial least-square-based path modeling (PLS-PM) was applied to analyze the dataset. The findings reveal the partial mediation of psychological well-being in the relationships of fear of COVID-19 with both turnover intention and depression. While workplace safety and management practices significantly moderate the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and both turnover intentions, depression also mediates the relationship. The findings add to the existing literature on the effects of COVID-19 through the dual lenses of protection motivation theory and attribution theory. We can employ these findings to overcome issues of employee well-being in the hotel setting.

The research sample consists of 423 employees of 21 four-star hotels in Egypt. The PLS-SEM results revealed that service employee creativity is enhanced when they realize their leaders have visions for the future, are capable of overcoming organizational inertia, along with keeping up with simultaneous changes. The results revealed that this behavior dampens the negative relationship between visionary leadership and organizational inertia. The theoretical and practical implications of the extracted results are discussed.

Gender differences in the value of using Facebook: A pilot study

Several statistics highlight that the adoption rate of Social Networking Sites (SNS), and more specifically Facebook, is increasing continuously and especially among youth. However, little attention has been paid in literature to measure the value gratified by these young users when using Facebook as an example of SNS in terms of perceived benefits and perceived sacrifices. Grounded in the value literature, this paper develops a conceptual model that consists of a set of perceived benefits and perceived sacrifices related to the use of SNS, particularly the Facebook. In addition, the majority of prior research on SNS usage assumes that females and males evaluate SNS in a similar manner. Therefore, it is also important to examine the differences in term of perceived value (i.e. perceived benefits minus perceived sacrifices) between young males and young females when using Facebook. This is significant in framing future strategies and plans for Facebook and other similar SNS. As part of a larger research project, the paper also reports the survey instrument development and validation in the field. We administered the survey instrument to a sample of 60 students randomly chosen from University students in Jordan. Although the sample was small, it indicates that the reliability of the scales is within an acceptable range and it can be used to test the main study hypotheses.

In order to obtain vital and accurate information, the study adopted quantitative research methodology by using the tool of self-completion questionnaires. More precisely, this study is based on a single case study, the public administration in Greece. Moreover, the sources of data collection were relied upon primary data. Furthermore, this study revealed the organizational barriers against e-government by focusing on the major impediments as the participants captured them. Non-availability of high IT-staff, age of employees and the structure of the political regime as well as the way that the central government operates affect the structure of the public sector and are considered the most important barriers that guide to difficulties as far as e-government adoption is concerned. Indeed, Greek Public sector is facing many organizational problems and should eliminate the majority of them by undertaking radical changes and effective measures.

Applications of Big Data Analytics in Financial Auditing- A Study on The Big Four

However, the auditing industry seems to be lethargic and reluctant to embrace the potentials BDA might bring to the auditing work. It is understandable that a sector with such stern regulations and tight control will tend to hold a conservative and cautious attitude toward new and infant technologies. In this paper, we have used a mixed method approach through, first conducting interviews with front-line auditors, and second, conducting a survey in the Big Four auditing firms in Taiwan. This study provides a preliminary understanding of auditors’ perceptions about applying BDA into financial auditing and recognize the hidden components that facilitate or hinder the adoption of BDA. Based on our findings, a recommendation of the business approach on how other auditing firms can take to fasten the process of integrating BDA into their auditing practices and the methods to reduce the barriers associated with it is presented in this study.

This study looks at Intensive Care and Palliative Care, as important instances where health informatics could improve public web-based services, in meeting the particular information needs of family members of critically and chronically ill patients. This study is significant in adopting an approach to the usability testing of websites based on concepts from Activity Theory. This takes a realistic and practical approach, which identifies the purpose of the web-site from an end-user perspective and then tests it in situations which simulate typical reallife activities of the user. The results of this work indicate that, with current website designs, face-to-face communication is still the preferred means to fulfil the public's need for health information when family members are in care. The websites used in this study, as is the case with most community health web-sites, did not allow interaction or direct communication between clinicians and the public. The results indicate the rising need for multifaceted modes of communication with different languages, multimedia, and interactive features.

Results are presented of a study ofcommunication in Intensive Care Units (ICU), where data was collected from the website owners, public users of the site and ICU clinicians who traditionally find communication with families ofpatients difficult. The paper presents the results of this research aimed at understanding the situationand needs of potential website users. The study has provided a greater understanding of howinformation technologies can help to resolve problems that arise with the ad-hoc, face-to-facecommunication that currently occurs in this area. To underpin the research a systems-dynamics modelof information flows in an ICU, was developed in an evolutionary fashion using Stella software. Themodelling process was informed by a review of literature, as well as data from various stakeholdergroups. The model provided a means of re-interpreting the data, encapsulating the knowledge gainedfrom the study and visualising the research findings in an innovative way that is enabling the projectto move forward.
