Rethinking Braille Access: How Multi-Line Braille Could Transform Apple Accessibility for DeafBlind Users

In September 2025, Apple released Braille Access to the public, a comprehensive set of features to provide braille users with an experience similar to that found on dedicated braille notetakers.  At the same time, multi-line  braille displays began to hit the market, offering, for the first time, a way for braille readers to have access to multiple lines of braille at a time.  In this blog post, DeafBlind advocate and AppleVis Editor Scott Davert discusses the current limitations of Braille Access and how the addition of multi-line braille support could revolutionize his experience.
