From the deconstruction solution hackathon to the Re:Loop World Business Chicago panels. Hundreds, yeah plural, turned out for just these events - so Chicago citizens are turning out for reuse. Well done to everyone that made it happen!

The School Nutrition Association's Annual National Conference (ANC) brought together thousands of school nutrition professionals, industry partners, and organizations focused on the future of school meals. @Bold Reuse was happy to be part of the conversation. At our booth, we discussed what it takes to make reuse work in K–12. Reducing waste is important, but successful programs also need to work for staff, students, and budgets. Hot off the press: Reuse made the news! And we couldn't be more proud.   This past weekend, Reuse Seattle and Bold Reuse partnered with West Seattle Junction to make reusable dishware the standard for ALL food vendors at West Seattle Summer Fest. Within this partnership, West Seattle Junction has piloted reuse at events and demonstrated that reuse at scale is possible over the past three years. This year, they took it a step further and set reuse as the norm. Across the three-day festival, food was served to tens of thousands of patrons with entirely reusable dishware and serviceware!   And FOX 13 News took notice, featuring Stacie Woods (Marketing and Events Director at West Seattle Junction) and Reuse Seattle Lead Gwen Bartholomay to spread the word that reuse is the future of waste-free events.   Check out the video below to see reuse in action on FOX 13. https://lnkd.in/gaxrBe6B

During PNW Climate Week, we joined Bridge 13, McMenamins Pubs & Breweries, and Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center to talk about what it takes to build low-waste events that work. From McMenamins' 94% reusable cup return rate to Hyatt's approach to food recovery, the conversation kept coming back to one idea: successful low-waste programs are built on thoughtful operations. When the sustainable choice is also the easiest choice, adoption follows.
