This month, Prevention & Care Services and Youth & Prevention Services came together under one Prevention Services umbrella to connect across teams, strengthen relationships, and align around a shared vision for the future. Staff heard from Chief Program Officer Michael Clarke, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis on the future of HIV prevention and expanding access to care, and Dr. Elys Vasquez-Iscan on burnout, self-care, and sustaining ourselves in this work. The day concluded with reflections from Housing Works Founder and CEO Charles King on the power of collaboration, innovation, and mission-driven leadership. Together, we celebrated our achievements, explored opportunities ahead, and reinforced our commitment to advancing health equity and serving our communities.
Housing Works
Non-profit Organizations
Building a more compassionate and equitable world through life-changing services and relentless advocacy.
About us
Born out of the AIDS crisis in New York City, Housing Works is a healing community that fights for inclusive care, social justice, and an end to homelessness. Our integrated healthcare, life-changing services, relentless advocacy, and social enterprises break barriers and involve the whole community in building a more compassionate and equitable world. Advocacy Housing Works fights for funding and legislation to ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS have access to quality housing, healthcare, HIV prevention information and other life-sustaining services, as well as legal protection from stigma and discrimination. Housing Works is a grassroots organization committed to the use of non-violent civil disobedience in order to further our mission to end AIDS and homelessness. Services Since 1990, we have provided a comprehensive array of services to more than 20,000 homeless and low-income New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. Supportive services include but are not limited to housing, healthcare, meals and nutritional counseling, mental health and substance use treatment, job training, and legal assistance. Entrepreneurial Businesses Housing Works pioneered the concept of social enterprise–businesses whose profits fund the mission of a parent not-for-profit organization. This self-sustaining model provides employment opportunities to the community in addition to our fundraising efforts. Our businesses include Housing Works Thrift Shops and Housing Works Bookstore Cafe.

Housing Works Cannabis Co and Sasha Nutgent are excited to be part of the latest issue of Fat Nugs Magazine! Thank you, Dustin Hoxworth!
It's Friday and you know what that means...Fat Nugs Magazine time!!! Did you know that I've been saying and posting the above statement every Friday for over four years now? The key element for most things in life to become successful is to make sure that you simply show up consistently. And that's exactly what we've done. The Weekly Zine has taken on a few different forms over the years, but for the last two we've truly found our stride with it. Our phenomenal designer Erin Cullison and I work our butts off every week to build something we think folks will enjoy. It's filled with original articles, storytelling, science, education, and gorgeous photography and art, and it's growth this year has been nothing short of phenomenal! We're now sending the Weekly Digital Magazine out to around 12k subscribers every Friday, it lives on our website for thousands of more eyeballs, and it gets pushed out through our socials. It's become one of if not the most popular thing we do here at FNM. Massive shoutout to my team of misfit creators and plant lovers who help me drive this Independent Cannabis Publication: Jessica Reilly-Chevalier Daniel Crawford Sam Dietz Erin Cullison Paola Tello Derrall Peach Chris Petty Kyea Mofire Christina Aydt Jessica Williams RN Collins, M.S. chris birdsong A huge thank you to all of our Brand and Retail Partners as well as our advertisers and subscribers for helping us build and grow this thing into something we never thought possible.
