Meet our 2026 Direct Member Scholarship recipients! Land O'Lakes, Inc. is excited to recognize three exceptional student recipients of the Land O’Lakes Direct Member Scholarship. This $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to three students, who are graduating high school seniors and current undergraduates with familial ties to current direct producer members, to contribute to their higher education expenses for the fall semester. This year’s recipients are planning to attend or currently attending four-year programs within the U.S. where they seek to further their passions in agricultural business, architecture and veterinarian sciences. The scholarship continues to be a testament to Land O’Lakes’ commitment to empowering future leaders and supporting all educational pathways including two-year programs and technical schools. Week 1 as a Brand Development Intern at Land O'Lakes, Inc. complete! ✅ One week in and I’m already inspired by the people and the culture here. Got to make some great connections, meet some of the designers on the team, and get a glimpse into the world of in-house design. Already have a big project I’m excited about heading into week 2. Proud to share that our team at Land O'Lakes, Carlisle recently hosted a boot drive in partnership with Community CARES! It's great to hear directly from Community CARES that the boots are already finding their way to new homes and getting folks started on new careers in manufacturing. Sometimes the right pair of boots is the only thing standing between someone and their first day on the job. Huge thank you to everyone at the Carlisle facility who contributed, and to Beth Kempf, Erik Larson, and the whole Community CARES team for the partnership and the incredible work they do every day. For Terry Aukes, who helps run Aukes Family Farms in Larchwood, Iowa, turbulence in the farm economy isn't new. He has watched the ups and downs of the ag economy for decades, weathering droughts, floods and market swings. But he says the pressure lately is different. Terry explains that farmers are really feeling squeezed, facing both higher input costs and rising interest rates. “We’ve been farming here for four generations. We row crop mostly corn and soybeans, and it’s gotten harder every year to make the numbers work,” Terry shared. "We’re all very concerned. It’s like a double whammy that’s cutting into profits and making it harder to stay financially stable. You have to get creative and look at all your options to keep the farm going."
