Continuous Detection / Continuous Response

About us

Mate is the first continuous detection/continuous response solution. Mate enables a new security operations architecture where detection, investigation, response and threat hunting run as one, self improving cycle that outperforms AI-scale attacks. At its core is Mate’s home-grown security context graph: the institutional brain serving as a unified reasoning plane for AI agents. Fortune 500 organizations use Mate to investigate their entire alert queue, respond to threats before attackers can execute, keep detections up to date, eliminate SIEM lock-in and reduce costs. Mate’s is led by Wiz and Microsoft veterans and backed by Team8 and Insight Partners.

Our CEO, Asaf Wiener, on why Mate rebuilt what sits under the SOC instead of adding AI on top of it:

Guy Pergal, Oren Saban, and I spent years building solutions for the SOC before Mate, and we kept hitting the same wall: the SOC was built for humans investigating human-speed attacks, and attackers stopped playing by those rules a long time ago. Everyone's answer was to add AI to the platforms we already had, which makes analysts faster without changing the architecture that's actually failing them. So we went the other way and rebuilt what sits underneath, around context, trust, and openness. A year ago, that was just something three of us believed. Today? It's a proven architecture. Every security vendor now has an AI copilot, and we think they're all solving the wrong problem. You can't fix security operations by bolting an LLM onto a SIEM - it takes a whole architectural foundation built around AI, and that's the bet we made from day one. Our CEO, Asaf Wiener, talked it through with Carly Page at The New Stack, just after our $35M Series A - where the Security Context Graph came from, what it does that a copilot can't, and a sales-cycle number that still surprises us. 8 months out of stealth. Multiple enterprise customers. Over $50M in funding! We built the open foundation for agentic security operations. The signal from the market is clear, demand continues to outpace our expectations, leading us to raise our revenue and growth targets three times this year. Today, just 8 months after coming out of stealth, we're announcing our Series A to help us meet that demand. This milestone validates the principles we bet on from day one: Context is the foundation. Trust has to be built in. Building open is harder - but it's vital to enable our customers to escape vendor lock-in. Thank you, Insight Partners and Team8 for believing in us again. Welcome, Canaan and M12, Microsoft's Venture Fund! And thank you, Mate Team - you got us here ❤️ For the first time in our lives, we are witnessing a SOC that can handle everything in its queue and cover its ground. Defenders are finally moving faster than attackers.

We’re excited to welcome Inbal Argov to Mate’s leadership team as VP Product Strategy. Inbal has actually been part of Mate’s journey for a while. As an advisor, she challenged our thinking and helped shape our direction, contributing the inventions we now use to build trustworthy autonomous action, including Gamebooks and CPR. Now, she’s joining us full-time to help take Mate’s product and go-to-market strategy to the next level. Inbal brings rare experience across AI, security, and high-stakes decision-making. She built an AI product that earned her a place on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, led teams across cloud and AI security at Microsoft, and built LLM systems for fraud detection and decisioning at Meta. But what makes Inbal such a natural fit for Mate is that she is not only a strategist - she is a builder! As our Builder in Residence, she is also launching Security in Public, a public R&D lab where she turns ideas about trustworthy AI in security into open-source environments, evals, code, demos, and writing others can inspect and challenge. Inbal has already made Mate better from the outside. We’re very happy to now have her building with us from the inside. Welcome, Inbal. You were already a Mate - now it’s official.

AI can't find you love. Mate can. 💘 That was the whole idea behind our "Find a Mate" summer party - the one thing no model solves is finding your person, so we brought in the queen of matchmaking herself, Maya Wertheimer, to work her magic on the singles of the tech scene. Add a fortune teller, a "toxic ex" cleansing station, and Tamir Bar taking over the stage, and the dance floor was on fire. 🌴🔥 The year has been moving so fast, and one evening to slow down with the partners, friends, and families behind the people we work with every day was exactly what we needed. Thank you to everyone who came, danced, and found a Mate.  See you at the next one. 🥂

🎉 Welcome, Avihu! 🎉 Happy to announce that Avihu G. has joined Mate as a Security Researcher. As a security researcher, Avihu digs into how real attacks actually work, and that knowledge flows straight into how our agents investigate - the deeper the research, the sharper Mate gets. Welcome to the team, Avihu! Let's get to work. 🚀

You build an AI agent, and it breaks, so you grab a smarter model, and it breaks again in a slightly different way. That loop can go on for years, and many teams are stuck in it right now. Asaf Wiener, our CEO, wrote a piece in The New Stack about why it never actually ends. The short version is that the model was never really the problem - it's everything underneath it that nobody wants to build. Whether the agent understands how your company works, whether it reaches for the right tool instead of the one that just sounds right, and whether anything stops it before it does something it shouldn't. The noise. The meetings. The miles walked. The endless expo halls. This year, we're creating space to slow down at Black Hat. Take a break for lunch. Find a quiet place to work between sessions. Step away for a wellness experience. Have an unhurried conversation with our team. Or simply pause before heading back into the sessions. It all starts at Booth #4717, where you can unlock access to The Mate Lounge - our private off-show-floor space designed to help you make the most of your week in Las Vegas. Reserve time with our team and explore everything we're bringing to The Mate Experience. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dnKmVMQr #BlackHatUSA #BlackHat2026 #SecurityOperations #CyberSecurity #AISecurity #AISOC #MateSecurity

What do the Livshitz brothers argue about at family dinner? Not politics! 😄 Our very own Shahar Livschitz, our product manager at Mate, and his brother Gal Livschitz, Offensive Security Solutions Engineer at Terra Security (one of our favorite startups!), go at it over the stuff that actually matters 🔥  Open models or closed? Where is AI in security really headed?! The kind of debate you can only have with someone who lives this too! People say Israeli cyber is basically one big family - and these two? A living proof! 🤣 Love you guys ❤️
