Nassau Financial Group’s Chief Growth Officer, Tom Buckingham, was recently featured in Annuity.org, answering the question: “What’s the biggest MYGA mistake you see clients make when rates shift?” As Tom notes, “The biggest mistake is making a long-term retirement decision based on where interest rates might go next.” With many retirement savers closely watching Federal Reserve announcements and interest rate forecasts, Tom emphasizes the importance of focusing on overall retirement goals rather than attempting to time the market. He also highlights the need to consider factors beyond an advertised rate, including contract provisions, liquidity needs, and how a Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuity (MYGA) fits within a broader retirement income strategy. Nassau Financial Group’s Chief Growth Officer, Tom Buckingham, was recently featured in Smart Senior Daily, addressing one of the biggest questions in modern retirement planning: what happens to your money if you live to 95? Longer lifespans are reshaping how Americans think about retirement income. As Tom notes, “Retirement planning isn’t just about building assets. It’s about structuring them to support the life you want to live, for as long as you live it.” With fewer workers expecting pension income and more retirees relying on their own savings to last 25–30 years or more, the focus is shifting from accumulation to creating reliable, sustainable income. Nassau Financial Group’s Chief Growth Officer, Tom Buckingham, was recently featured in InsuranceNewsNet, sharing insights on how advisors can help clients balance guaranteed income, portfolio growth, and financial flexibility through partial annuitization. As retirement planning becomes increasingly complex amid market volatility, inflation concerns, longer life expectancies, and uncertainty around traditional income sources, many retirees are looking for ways to create greater confidence in their financial future. As Tom explains, “Partial annuitization allows guaranteed income to complement existing sources of retirement income while keeping the remainder of a portfolio available for growth, liquidity and legacy goals.” Rather than viewing annuities as an all-or-nothing decision, partial annuitization can help clients secure essential income needs while maintaining access to investments designed for growth and long-term objectives. Our Finance team recently swapped spreadsheets for shovels during a volunteer day at the Chrysalis Center Food Forest, helping weed, mulch, and maintain the space alongside one another. There was plenty of teamwork, a little friendly competition, and even a few unofficial awards earned along the way. It was a reminder that some of the best team building happens even outside the office. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day a success! #NassauCares

Last week, Nassau was proud to host the 2026 Actuarial Bootcamp in partnership with Connecticut Insurance and Financial Services (CT-IFS), welcoming 23 aspiring actuaries for a week of learning, networking, and professional development. Throughout the week, students explored what a career in actuarial science looks like, from sharpening technical skills and preparing for professional exams to gaining insight into the evolving insurance industry. Students heard from Nassau leaders, including Chief Actuary Michael Donovan, as well as industry experts who shared insights on insurance, innovation, entrepreneurship, and career development. One of the week’s highlights was a panel of early-career actuaries and professionals, where students had the opportunity to ask questions, hear about real career experiences, and gain practical advice as they begin their own journeys. The week also included a social hour in our courtyard, giving students and Nassau employees a chance to connect over dirty sodas before celebrating the program’s conclusion at commencement. Thank you to everyone who shared their time and expertise to make this year’s bootcamp a success. We look forward to seeing where these future actuaries go next!

Giving back means helping create stronger, more welcoming communities. Earlier this June, Nassau employees volunteered at Chrysalis Center, helping refresh the grounds with landscaping and mulch. Together, their efforts created a more welcoming environment for clients accessing important services and resources. Chrysalis Center provides critical services including housing, food, recovery support, community programs, and employment opportunities to individuals and families working to overcome challenges such as homelessness, mental health struggles, and addiction. Their mission helps people transform their lives and build a stronger future. We are proud to support organizations like Chrysalis Center and grateful to our employees for giving their time to make a difference. #NassauCares
