  • For nearly 30 years, Broward Health had not opened a new building at its flagship medical center. Now, that story is changing—and Beck is excited to play a role. As one of the 10 largest public healthcare systems in the U.S., Broward Health is investing in the future of care across South Florida. Our ongoing partnership is helping deliver three new facilities that will expand access to care, support patients and caregivers, and create capacity for future growth. At Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, an eight-story, 188,000-square-foot medical office building will provide 129 exam rooms—with the ability to expand to 237—alongside a seven-story parking garage with 700 spaces. At Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, a six-story, 114,000-square-foot medical office building will include 75 exam rooms, with capacity to expand to 123. Both facilities are designed with flexible, standardized clinic layouts to support evolving care models and future growth. This summer, Broward Health also celebrated the opening of its Lighthouse Point Emergency Facility. We're proud to continue building alongside Broward Health and helping shape the future of care across South Florida.

  • The conversation around AI in the built environment often focuses on what the technology can do. The more important question may be: "How can we use it to make better decisions?" In the latest issue of Beck’s Cost Report, Chad Schieber, Mason Blalack, and Josh Hallet explore how AI is being applied across the design-build process—from pre-development and design through preconstruction and construction. At Beck, the focus isn’t on adopting every new tool. It’s about applying AI to provide earlier insight, reveal options, improve cost certainty, support schedule reliability, and help teams manage risk without replacing the judgment and experience that drive successful projects. Read "Design Intelligence in Practice: How We’re Applying AI Across the Design-Build Process" to explore what practical AI adoption looks like across the building lifecycle. A Project with Purpose! A recent feature in The Archangel Magazine spotlights the Beck team behind Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church’s new church, discussing the construction challenges the team navigated and the personal connections they brought to this sacred space. For Beck, this was never just a building project. It is a place of belonging, a welcoming space where thousands in our community can gather, connect, and worship together. Through preserving past design elements, Saint Michael’s bridges generations, honoring the legacy of the past in its present form. Congratulations to Graham Comstock, Louis Sierra AIA, LEED AP BD-C, and Mickey Luttrell! Read the full article: https://loom.ly/ywEVCMU

  • Curious why Beck chose Raleigh for its newest permanent office? Our latest Beck Think article, “Why Raleigh,” explores the region’s growth, the depth of local talent, and the opportunities our team sees across commercial, healthcare, higher education, and municipal work in the Triangle. Inside our new Raleigh office, Ryan Horne, AIA, and a multidisciplinary team are partnering with clients to design and build projects that reflect the area’s momentum and long-term vision. "Growth feels intentional here. It is not just expansion for its own sake. That kind of environment supports better projects and better outcomes." • The FIFA World Cup put North Texas on the world's stage this summer. But the truth is, the world didn't make North Texas world-class — it just finally got to see what was already here. In Beck CEO Fred Perpall, FAIA's latest op-ed for D CEO, he writes about the decades of investment, collaboration, and civic leadership that made this moment possible. "The World Cup isn't what made North Texas a world-class region. It's evidence that this region has earned the opportunity to host the world through decades of investment, collaboration, and civic leadership." Read more at D CEO: https://loom.ly/g7LRFBk

  • For more than 130 years, First Baptist Dallas’ historic sanctuary has been a defining presence in the downtown skyline and a touchstone in the city’s architectural history. Nearly two years after a devastating fire, the congregation has broken ground on a renewed sanctuary, and The Beck Group is honored to help shape the next chapter of this landmark campus. Partnering with preservation specialists Architexas, our design focuses on preserving the original 1908 exterior walls while designing a worship space that respects the church’s historic fabric, strengthens its urban footprint, and continues its role as a spiritual and architectural anchor in the heart of Dallas.

  • Healthcare systems are constantly balancing patient demand with operational flexibility. At Parkland Health , that challenge became an opportunity to rethink how inpatient rooms could better support both. As part of the WISH 8 & 9 floor finishout, Beck partnered with Parkland to create a flexible patient room model designed to adapt to changing needs. While configured as private rooms under normal operations, the rooms can convert to semi-private accommodations when demand requires additional capacity, helping Parkland respond to fluctuations without compromising patient care. The project transformed approximately 60,000 SF across two inpatient floors, adding 112 medical/surgical beds while supporting operational efficiency, patient comfort, and long-term adaptability. Thoughtful planning today creates flexibility for tomorrow's healthcare needs.
